Con Man (2015)
I got to see this Crowd Funded show with a few friends and had seen the title before but did not realize who was in the show. For all fans of MMORPG, SciFi, CosPlay, and all the "CONS", it is a MUST SEE! Even if you only get into it 10%, this show holds you rapt around the stigma and dogma of SciFi and its trappings. With all the ups and downs that the actors, shows, and productions have to live and deal with, this follows what happens when one of the stars, who played the lead pilot in their now canceled show, goes around to the different "Cons" speaking about the show; and what happens to him and his agent. Starring the cast of Firefly / Serenity, this had me waiting to see what was going to happen next. There are many guest appearances and cameos throughout the show that it is hard to keep up with them, but do keep up.
If you have seen the first and loved it, then seen the second and taken slightly aback because you thought it was a little too over done, then be prepared to be set in the middle. At first I was going to wait, but when it was to be shown starting 4 hours earlier (due to midnight showings) it was decided to see if it could stand up to the first. The movie was once again mixed with all the things a pirate could want: love, romance, betrayal, twist, action, betrayal, and of course the sea. If people want to place the first movie against this one, it is advised against. Even though the story line continues, it seems to take on a life of its own. You wanted to see where the story went, but when you looked for something to go from in the previous movies, there was only the story. As it progressed I found myself wanting to see what was twisting where and how it was to come to fruition. As to be expected, the action gave some fun to the movie, but the intrigue was well placed. It didn't bowl you over but it was not slow going. ALmost a little long you have small kids with you. If you loved the first one, and like this one, stay for the ending.
Dragon Storm (2004)
I hope John Rhys-Davies got paid alot, then fired his manager
I watched this and as we know the 2nd reason for making a movie is entertainment (1st being money). If they called this entertainment, then the Battlefield Earth was defintely the best movie ever made. I made a better movie when I was in junior high school. I agree about the plot (uhh, what was the plot). Acting was poor at best, Rhys-Davies is an excellent actor and even he couldn't pull this one out. The Action was horrifying. Stunts were terrible and the only other good thing in the movie (besides Rhys-Davies)was the CGI dragons. Decent dragons, liked the crunching. They should take this movie back and start over again and this time use money to pay people to actually make a movie.
Once Upon a Time in Mexico (2003)
Half cooked story (Spoiler)
After watching the trailers and then watching the movie.. I cannot say that I am thoroughly impressed with the movie as it was. Although the characters were will done it could have with some better lines. The story only went half way though each set and then picked up somewhere else. And the dream flash backs have been over done too many times. Although Depp and Banderas make a convincing movie, it lacked the follow through that the first movie did. The story takes too long to develop and by the time you actually get somewhere it gets boring. You already have figured out everything and there are no plot twists. Not to mention if you are going to list someone in the actual credits as a lead... then they better actually have some real time in the movie.. not as just a side note.
Overall Action 9 / 10 Plot outline 4 / 10 Reason to go see the movie.. better to wait till video...
following basis ... if you are going to use a plot for a second film it better had follow the original plot...
Good reference: Young Guns.. Young Guns 2 Bad reference: Highlander... Highlander 2/3/4
The Matrix Reloaded (2003)
Well done...Although hope this will not spoil you
The Matrix is definitely a movie to see a few times throughout the summer. And if you are into sensory overload then this movie should be done a number of times. The plot is probably the only thing that is overdone but can be seen as the movie progresses. The characters don't really look as if they have grown since this is suppose to be over a year later. The double talk is over done (if you like to go round and round). The action is good and the characters have really exceeded themselves in preparing for this round. Although I think that they should have tried to do with less CGI. Over all.. I think I will see this movie at least one more time before November. That is when "the Revolution will be in real time". I hope you enjoy the movie as much as I.
