2. How I Met Your Mother (2005–2014)

Good for the first few seasons, with an infamously horrible last one.
3. Two and a Half Men (2003–2015)

A hedonistic jingle writer's free-wheeling life comes to an abrupt halt when his brother and 10-year-old nephew move into his beach-front house.
Charlie Sheen never failed to entertain, and Ashton Kutcher has taken over the mantle quite well.
4. The Big Bang Theory (2007–2019)

A woman who moves into an apartment across the hall from two brilliant but socially awkward physicists shows them how little they know about life outside of the laboratory.
Started off quite well, and has grown to become a decent comedy series.
5. The IT Crowd (2006–2013)

The comedic misadventures of Roy, Moss and their grifting supervisor Jen, a rag-tag team of IT support workers at a large corporation headed by a hotheaded yuppie.
One of the best British comedy TV series out there; highly recommended.
6. The Inbetweeners (2008–2010)
TV-14 | 25 min | Comedy
Follows four friends and their antics during their final years of school.
Vulgar and immature, but hilarious nonetheless (or perhaps more so for it?).
7. Mind Your Language (1977–1986)

Intermittently racist, but always humorous.
8. Big (1988)

A delightful story about growing up and the myriad experiences involved with it.
9. Batman Begins (2005)

A fitting start to a brilliant trilogy.
10. The Dark Knight (2008)

Presents a rather familiar story (a la Dances with Wolves), but the lush, gorgeous landscapes and the director's incredible vision more than make up for it.
13. Watchmen (2009)

In 1985 where former superheroes exist, the murder of a colleague sends active vigilante Rorschach into his own sprawling investigation, uncovering something that could completely change the course of history as we know it.

15. Dexter (2006–2013)

One of the best efforts in TV show making I have seen so far, but the ending was a massive let down after so many years of quality television.

Loved this as a kid; Genndy Tartakosky never fails to entertain.
18. The Powerpuff Girls (1998–2005)

Three super-powered little girls constantly save the world (or at least the city of Townsville) from monsters, would-be conquerers and a few other gross things.
19. The Weather Man (2005)

A Chicago weather man, separated from his wife and children, debates whether professional and personal success are mutually exclusive.

Whether or not you watch this depends on the weather; if it's dark and gloomy out, it'll fit right in.
20. Sleepless in Seattle (1993)

Brad Pitt excels as the larger-than-life leader of the ragtag Nazi-killer group, and Tarantino seems to be appealing to a wider audience for one, making a thoroughly entertaining movie nonetheless, with a great ending.
