2/10 stars. A Sunday school rendition of MadMax. This movie was terrible. It started of really boring and got really preachy. I don't like Denzel Washington. I can't think of a role I've seen him play where I haven't thought "I don't like Denzel Washington." I need to watch another film now to get the bad taste out of my mouth.

When a small Colorado town is overrun by the flesh hungry dead a small group of survivors try to escape in a last ditch effort to stay alive.

Director: Steve Miner | Stars: Mena Suvari, Nick Cannon, Michael Welch, AnnaLynne McCord

Votes: 19,710

1/10 stars. This movie was atrocious! I have so many complaints about it I'd be here all day if I were to list them all. The main one would have to be the ridiculous amount of inconsistencies. It was unbelievable how poorly it was thought out. I was going to give a few examples but that list again would take all day to complete and I don't really wanna spend my whole day whinging about a movie I watched of my own free will. My advice to you is DON'T WATCH IT! Even if you are in the mood for a bad movie it isn't worth it. This movie's one saving grace for me was Mena Suvari. If she's not your taste there is absolutely no reason to watch this movie. Actually if you think she's a hottie she has another 50 movies/TV shows she's in. Watch one of those instead. I recommend American Beauty.

20. Thinner (1996)

R | 93 min | Fantasy, Horror

33 Metascore

An obese attorney is cursed by a gypsy to rapidly and uncontrollably lose weight.

Director: Tom Holland | Stars: Robert John Burke, Joe Mantegna, Lucinda Jenney, Bethany Joy Lenz

Votes: 25,815 | Gross: $15.17M

6/10 stars. This is a hard one. I really like Stephen King movies. I think most people would enjoy this movie but I really don't know. It's not all that scary but I like it. Everything about it is typical Stephen King. Especially the pharmacist (hehe). There are better ones out there but there are some worse ones too. If you're in the mood for a light horror/thriller it's not bad. A 6 in my book. No idea where it rates in other people's.

21. Hot Rod (2007)

Director: Akiva Schaffer | Stars: Andy Samberg, Isla Fisher, Ian McShane, Jorma Taccone

Votes: 70,796 | Gross: $13.92M

4/10 stars. It had a few funny bits but it was painfully lame. It was supposed to be so lame it was funny but it was so lame it was lame. I'm sure the people who made it thought it was hilarious and they had heaps of fun making it but that's about all.

22. The Ugly Truth (2009)

R | 96 min | Comedy, Romance

28 Metascore

An uptight television producer takes control of a morning show segment on modern relationships hosted by a misogynistic man.

Director: Robert Luketic | Stars: Katherine Heigl, Gerard Butler, Bree Turner, Eric Winter

Votes: 192,889 | Gross: $88.92M

5/10 stars. Sort of starts of with a Cyrano type deal and turns into every other romantic comedy out there but the characters were likable, well portrayed and easy to relate to and it has some really good lines that made it quite funny. If you are not interested in seeing yet another romantic comedy maybe give it a miss but if you can handle another one, I reckon it's decent.

23. Shallow Hal (2001)

PG-13 | 114 min | Comedy, Drama, Fantasy

A shallow man falls in love with a 300-pound woman because of her inner beauty.

Votes: 122,010 | Gross: $70.84M

‎4/10 stars. It's a feel good movie and when first saw it I thought it was quite good but after watching again I think lot of the humour is really cheap.

90 Metascore

Roy Neary, an electric lineman, watches how his quiet and ordinary daily life turns upside down after a close encounter with a UFO.

5/10 stars. You've seen it right?

Director: Shawn Levy | Stars: Ben Stiller, Owen Wilson, Amy Adams, Hank Azaria

Votes: 164,023 | Gross: $177.24M

3/10 stars. This is one of those sequels that really wasn't necessary. Most of the CG was decent (the octopus looked cool) but it was a very lame movie. The story was boring. The action was boring. The attempted humour and historical references were lame. All in all it was pretty bad but not headslappingly bad.

26. Benny & Joon (1993)

PG | 98 min | Comedy, Drama, Romance

57 Metascore

A mentally ill young woman finds her love in an eccentric man who models himself after Buster Keaton.

Director: Jeremiah S. Chechik | Stars: Johnny Depp, Mary Stuart Masterson, Aidan Quinn, Julianne Moore

Votes: 52,208 | Gross: $23.20M

8/10 stars. Absolutely delightful movie. Has some of the funniest lines I've ever heard. Nice soundtrack. Great characters. Probably one of my favourite movies.

Director: James Wong | Stars: Jet Li, Carla Gugino, Delroy Lindo, Jason Statham

Votes: 86,065 | Gross: $43.91M

1/10 stars. Can't think of anything good about this movie. It was a rip-off of the Highlander but didn't even come close. All-in-all it was *beep* boring and *beep*

28. The Fugitive (1993)

PG-13 | 130 min | Action, Crime, Drama

Director: Andrew Davis | Stars: Harrison Ford, Tommy Lee Jones, Sela Ward, Julianne Moore

Votes: 249,308 | Gross: $183.88M

‎7/10 stars. How cool is Harrison Ford? This is probably only the second time I've seen this movie and the last time would have been in the mid-90's so I got to watch it with a clean slate. It's a very exciting movie. I wanna watch the 60's TV show now.

29. Equilibrium (2002)

R | 107 min | Action, Drama, Sci-Fi

33 Metascore

In an oppressive future where all forms of feeling are illegal, a man in charge of enforcing the law rises to overthrow the system and state.

Director: Kurt Wimmer | Stars: Christian Bale, Sean Bean, Emily Watson, Taye Diggs

Votes: 299,141 | Gross: $1.20M

2/10 stars. I love 1984 and Brave New World and all those books so when I read the blurb I thought "This movie is gonna be awesome!!" Christian Bale is also one of my favourite actors so I was heaps keen to see it. Now I feel like an idiot for getting even the slightest bit excited. This movie is stupid!!! It's supposed to be this society where people can't feel anything because they are drugged by an oppressive government. The problem is they are showing emotions like they are going out of fashion. It totally defeats the whole purpose of the movie. Why did they even bother. Aargh!!! Head slappingly stupid movie *beep* *beep* *beep* Aargh!!!!!

30. Dead Calm (1989)

R | 96 min | Horror, Thriller

70 Metascore

8/10 stars. Great movie. Not the first time I've seen it but I think I enjoyed it more this time around. It's got some great characters with some excellent lines. If you haven't seen it, definitely give it a go.

33. Red Dog (2011)

Based on the legendary true story of the Red Dog who united a disparate local community while roaming the Australian outback in search of his long lost master.

Director: Kriv Stenders | Stars: Josh Lucas, Rachael Taylor, Rohan Nichol, Luke Ford

Votes: 15,599

10/10 stars. What a bloody brilliant film. Well written, good directing, funny as, moving. It pretty well has it all. Comedy and tragedy and everything in between. (I think I just summed up life in a sentence - tehe). A fair dinkum movie about an Aussie icon. Bloody brilliant.

34. The Sitter (2011)

R | 81 min | Comedy

39 Metascore

A college student on suspension is coaxed into babysitting the kids next door, though he is fully unprepared for the wild night ahead of him.

Director: David Gordon Green | Stars: Jonah Hill, Ari Graynor, Sam Rockwell, Max Records

Votes: 66,074 | Gross: $30.54M

4/10 stars. Why do I watch these *beep* movies? Surely I knew that this would not be very good and yet it didn't stop me from watching it anyway. I always think Jonah Hill's movies are gonna be good but most of them just aren't. Oh well.

35. Cedar Boys (2009)

A journey into the lives of young Middle Eastern men from Sydney's outer west with dreams and desires to better themselves and fit in

Director: Serhat Caradee | Stars: Rachael Taylor, Martin Henderson, Bren Foster, Dan Mor

7/10 stars. Very good and very real movie. Liked pretty much everything about it.

36. Paul (2011)

R | 104 min | Adventure, Comedy, Sci-Fi

57 Metascore

Two English comic book geeks traveling across the U.S. encounter an alien outside Area 51.

Director: Greg Mottola | Stars: Simon Pegg, Nick Frost, Seth Rogen, Mia Stallard

Votes: 223,293 | Gross: $37.41M

7/10 stars. I like Simon Pegg and Nick Frost. Funny blokes. Never let me down. I like Seth Rogan, too. Pretty funny movie. My one qualm with it is that they used swearing as a joke a little too often which was a bit lame. I would have thought that was hilarious when I was in primary school but I was just like "They know that that's not actually that funny right?" Especially because a lot of the comedy was quite witty, it made those stand out as dumbed down humour. The effects were really really good. Lot's of funny scenes and lines. Definitely worth a watch.

37. Sid and Nancy (1986)

R | 112 min | Biography, Drama, Music

76 Metascore

The relationship between Sid Vicious, bassist for British punk group Sex Pistols, and his girlfriend Nancy Spungen is portrayed.

Director: Alex Cox | Stars: Gary Oldman, Chloe Webb, David Hayman, Debby Bishop

Votes: 27,829 | Gross: $2.83M

1/10 stars. I hate this movie. I thought it was cool years ago and I have absolutely no idea why. This movie is terrible. I really wanted to stop it half way through but I fought it out. I didn't know Sid or Nancy personally obviously but I can tell this movie is full of *beep* The writing is really bad. Nancy's character is so bloody loud. Paul Cook's character was really pathetic. Steve Jones' character may as well have not even been in it. I couldn't even tell who Malcolm McLaren's character was. Most of the acting was just rubbish. It's no wonder John Lydon hates this movie. I hate it already but I would hate it even more if it was about one of my mates. Bloody hell. If you like the Sex Pistols, watch the Filth and the Fury or the Great Rock n' Roll Swindle. If you hate the Sex Pistols, this is probably the film for you.

38. Splash (1984)

Director: Ron Howard | Stars: Tom Hanks, Daryl Hannah, Eugene Levy, John Candy

Votes: 64,369 | Gross: $62.10M

5/10 stars. It's a cute movie with heaps of sex jokes, bums and boobs so of course I like it. It's better than most recent romcoms but still nothing to write home about.

39. Species (1995)

R | 108 min | Action, Horror, Sci-Fi

49 Metascore

A group of scientists try to track down and trap a killer alien seductress before she successfully mates with a human.

Director: Roger Donaldson | Stars: Natasha Henstridge, Michael Madsen, Ben Kingsley, Alfred Molina

Votes: 70,265 | Gross: $60.07M

‎7/10 stars. I loved this movie when it came out and I still reckon its pretty cool. I like the story, boobs and gore. Probably in that order. I also really like the characters. Especially Forest Whitaker. The special effects didn't look as good as I remember them looking on VHS. HD tellies sometimes make the picture too clear. It was still pretty cool.

40. Son of the Mask (2005)

PG | 94 min | Comedy, Family, Fantasy

20 Metascore

Tim Avery, an aspiring cartoonist, finds himself in a predicament when his dog stumbles upon the mask of Loki. Then after conceiving an infant son "born of the mask", he discovers just how looney child raising can be.

Director: Lawrence Guterman | Stars: Jamie Kennedy, Traylor Howard, Alan Cumming, Liam Falconer

Votes: 49,803 | Gross: $17.02M

3/10 stars. I wanted to watch this even though I had heard it was *beep* It was actually better than I thought it would be. That being said it was very boring and not really worth watching. Marito and I got a good nap out of it though as it put us both to sleep. The reason this got 3 stars instead of 1 or 2 is that all the movies I have rated 1 or 2 were so *beep* they made me really angry. This one is just really dull.

41. The Strangers (2008)

R | 86 min | Horror, Mystery, Thriller

47 Metascore

A young couple staying in an isolated vacation home are terrorized by three unknown assailants.

Director: Bryan Bertino | Stars: Scott Speedman, Liv Tyler, Gemma Ward, Alex Fisher

Votes: 111,840 | Gross: $52.60M

5/10 stars. Liv Tyler was very good. Very believable. I think she might be a really good actress. The movie was actually pretty good. I jumped a few times and there were some good scenes. The soundtrack was pretty good, too. My only qualm with it was that the end could have been way better if they did it a tiny bit differently. The last five minutes were pretty lame. All of the baddies' lines apart from the first one were really not necessary and it would have made the movie much better without them. If they didn't talk I would have given it a 7 or even an 8. Those few lines really brought it down for me and having no talking would have made it so much more cold hearted and scary. Oh well. It's still decent but there are better movies out there.

42. Changeling (2008)

R | 141 min | Biography, Crime, Drama

63 Metascore

Grief-stricken mother Christine Collins (Angelina Jolie) takes on the L.A.P.D. to her own detriment when it tries to pass off an obvious impostor as her missing child.

Director: Clint Eastwood | Stars: Angelina Jolie, Colm Feore, Amy Ryan, Gattlin Griffith

Votes: 225,444 | Gross: $35.74M

8/10 stars. A brilliant movie based on a scary but true story. The costume, sets and props were very good. The look, sound and feel of the movie were great, too. Angelina Jolie did a brilliant job which helped make the movie that much more real. For me it felt like I was in amongst all the kerfuffle. Clint Eastwood did a very good job. I originally was going to give it a 7 but after thinking about how well it was made I gave it an 8. For me it's more like a 7.5. I would normally round down but in this case I think it probably deserves the 8.

43. In the Cut (2003)

R | 119 min | Mystery, Thriller

46 Metascore

New York City writing professor, Frannie Avery, has an affair with a police detective, who is investigating the murder of a beautiful young woman in her neighborhood.

Director: Jane Campion | Stars: Meg Ryan, Mark Ruffalo, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Michael Nuccio

Votes: 20,726 | Gross: $4.75M

9/10 stars. Dark. Gritty. Gruesome. Heavy. Poetic. Artistic. Tragic. Powerful. Noir.

44. Heartbreakers (2001)

PG-13 | 123 min | Comedy, Crime, Romance

47 Metascore

A mother and daughter con team seduce and scam wealthy men.

Director: David Mirkin | Stars: Sigourney Weaver, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Gene Hackman, Ray Liotta

Votes: 49,192 | Gross: $40.34M

4/10 stars. Hmm yeah. It wasn't terrible but it didn't really have much going for it either. Jennifer Love Hewitt is really hot but she plays a weak character. There were three or four times I laughed and a couple of chuckles but on a whole it wasn't very funny. Jennifer Love Hewitt is always hot and she is in heaps better movies than this so I'd recommend another one of her movies. On the other hand, she doesn't dress like she does is in this in her other movies. If that's reason enough for you to watch it, give it a go.
