Actors from classic Hollywood , often foreign born , who played the ethnic types - Russians , Mexicans , Italians , Norwegians etc , particularly in films set abroad ( a film set in France for example could have Spanish , Italian , and Jewish actors with accents all over the place ...) Sometimes they were stereotypes , some were even leads .
