Haunted Houses

by karlee1981 | created - 25 Oct 2017 | updated - 8 months ago | Public

Protagonists are warned not to set foot in the dusty old mansion. Of course, they don't listen.

Much as I like them, I'm not counting movies where the house itself is alive (Hausu, Burnt Offerings), movies about Haunted Objects (the original Oculus short, segments from Torture Garden or From Beyond the Grave), movies set in ugly suburban houses (Poltergeist, The Pact), or movies about untethered ghosts that are free to go anywhere (Lake Mungo, The Gravedancers). And I'm definitely not counting cheap, teen-aimed, James Wan-ey trash movies that feature a CGI demon-ghost or are "Based on a True Story". Spoiler Alert: They absolutely are not.

Fans of Haunted House films might be interested in Spooky Mysteries.
