  • ME: The script & acting painfully juvenile - gave up as waste of time.
Reviews:beautifully written, shot & acted, elements of mystery, thriller, horror, & fantasy, love story. An adult retelling done in stylized terms dripping with plenty of sensuality. Set in a medieval village plagued by a werewolf, a young woman is torn between two men: Peter (Shiloh Fernandez), a woodcutter, & Henry (Max Irons) the wealthy welder her parents have arranged for her to marry. Valerie & Peter plan to runaway together until getting word the werewolf has killed her sister. Gripping, well-written ride that leaves even the smartest of audience detectives baffled as yto who the werewolf is.

13. Results (2015)

R | 105 min | Comedy, Romance

73 Metascore

Two mismatched personal trainers' lives are upended by the actions of a new, wealthy client.

Director: Andrew Bujalski | Stars: Guy Pearce, Cobie Smulders, Kevin Corrigan, Giovanni Ribisi

Votes: 5,798 | Gross: $0.10M

ABANDONED: rave reviews / indie romantic comedy Guy Pearce+ (owner Trevor) Kobie Smulders (Kat) Kevin Corrigan - (client Danny) 65% google, 83% Rotten Tomatoes

Me: I like quirky, fine with slower paced films & Guy Pearce was good in it, but not good enough to warrant watching the whole thing. The dialog was okay. but the characters were 1 dimensional & boring - notably Corrigan's portrayal of Danny - could have done so much more with that role. Watched about 3/4's of it, no laughs. Maybe because I'm not body obsessed I didn't get the pathos/humor".

PLOT: A wealthy but miserable slob tries to improve his life and soon becomes inextricably entangled with a self-styled guru/gym owner & acerbic personal trainer.

Reviews: Smulders captures the screen portraying Kat, an intense, sexy, volatile personal trainer. Pearce plays owner who's extremely serious about fitness & business. He's once had an affair with Kat, clearly chemistry between them, but they can't seem to really connect. Enter Danny (Corrigan) as a walk-in to the gym, a strange guy who's looking to improve on his out of shape & nebishy persona. Just divorced, unexpectedly inherited a windfall from his estranged mother. Kat is assigned as his personal trainer, he develops a fixation on her, which will lead down paths I didn't expect. It's not a laugh-out-loud type comedy, more droll & cerebral. Won me over with its good performances, quirky humor & an upbeat finish.

Votes: 393,044 | Gross: $186.85M

ABANDONED: Mystery / Crime Robert Downey Jr.+, Jude Law, Jared Harris, Stephen Fry Please, is it really necessary to morph Sherlock into an action figure?? He's loved for his intellect...this a travesty. I'll re-watch Benedict Cumberbatch in the British Series "Sherlock" instead - now that's how to put an interesting spin on a character - knocks this out of the ball park."

ABANDONED: drama / comedy / Netflix original Adam Sandler, Ben Stiller, Dustin Hoffman

Abandoned early into it, unfair to rate. Adam Sandler...should have known better.

ABANDONED: horror WAY to slow, dialog difficult to hear, disliked the baby mangling & creepy animals gave up 1/3 way in

Director: John Carpenter | Stars: James Woods, Daniel Baldwin, Sheryl Lee, Thomas Ian Griffith

Votes: 48,807 | Gross: $20.24M

ABANDONED; horror, neo-western action ...I thought it sounded great. It wasn't! I need at least SOME character development to care about what happens. Very dated, doesn't hold up well, watched most of it.

James Woods (Jack Crow) Daniel Baldwin (jowliest Baldwin) Thomas Ian Griffith (Valek)

Director: John Carpenter

Intrigued by review "When it comes to fighting vampires & performing exorcisms, the Roman Catholic Church has the heavy artillery, you want a priest on the case. Grungy, disreputable fun. beautifully shot, nightmarishly haunting spaghetti western/horror. Entertaining watch thanks to Woods's as Jack Crow, hard-bitten vampire hunter, whose family was destroyed by vampires. He's fun to watch, the dark glasses, the little cigar, the sneer. Carpenter does a good job with this stylish, scary vampire flick, giving us a a great leading hero & a great villain.

22. Warcraft: The Beginning (2016)

32 Metascore

Votes: 224,837 | Gross: $47.37M

ABANDONED...Action, Adventure, Fantasy Travis Fimmel* (Anduin Lothar) Dominic Cooper* (Llane Wrynn) Ben Schnetzer* (Khadgar)

  • just not for me. Maybe if I'd played the game... "
IMDB REVIEW: the movie is actually very good. The CGI is awesome, they should as example to the next Hulk. The movie could be better but honestly, this is probably the best adaptation of a video game. I had no problem to follow the story, the plot is simple, the names are very complicated to remember (lol). The orcs are the core of the movie, they are much more interesting than the humans in my opinion. I believe the director was so focused in have the CGI right that maybe he forgot the human actors PLOT: As an Orc horde invades the planet Azeroth using a magic portal, a few human heroes and dissenting Orcs must attempt to stop the true evil behind this war.
