Director: Sacha Gervasi | Stars: Anthony Hopkins, Helen Mirren, Scarlett Johansson, Danny Huston

Votes: 69,187 | Gross: $6.01M

My Rating: 8******** Love Hitchcock... well cast with Anthony Hopkins as the master of suspense himself and Helen Mirren as Hitchcock's wife - the powerful yet rarely mentioned driving force behind some the great classics such as Psycho.

2. On the Road (2012)

R | 124 min | Adventure, Drama, Romance

56 Metascore

Young writer Sal Paradise has his life shaken by the arrival of free-spirited Dean Moriarty and his girl, Marylou. As they travel across the country, they encounter a mix of people who each impact their journey indelibly.

Director: Walter Salles | Stars: Sam Riley, Garrett Hedlund, Kristen Stewart, Amy Adams

Votes: 38,317 | Gross: $0.72M

My Rating: 8******** a bit disappointing if you have read the book. Has some insightful scenes into Jack Kerouac's life. Felt the film failed to capture more of the essence of the Beat Generation. Also felt the Dean Moriarty's role was a bit overplayed and over the top. I felt that this character could of been more elusive and mysterious as it seemed to play out in the book.

Director: Philipp Stölzl | Stars: Aaron Eckhart, Nick Alachiotis, Liana Liberato, Olga Kurylenko

Votes: 27,947

a.k.a. Erased: My Rating: 8******* I enjoyed the pace and feel of this thriller. I felt some depth was added by weaving in the relationship between father and daughter. Each of their separate pasts intersect, causing them to discover each other's values and truths, which in the end not only help save their relationship - but also their lives. Loved the special guest appearance of Jean Reno, as a.k.a. Léon, the Professional. Great ending.

Not sure why it has such a low overall rating. If you like thrillers I highly recommend it. (USA | Canada | Belgium | UK co-production)

Director: John Moore | Stars: Bruce Willis, Jai Courtney, Sebastian Koch, Mary Elizabeth Winstead

Votes: 191,079 | Gross: $67.35M

My Rating: 6****** I am such a die hard fan of the Die Hard Series that to give this latest and supposedly last episode only 6 stars was difficult.

I felt that the dual main-split roles of father and son didn't work and only contributed to the unraveling of a proven formula in where a dynamic John McClane when left to his own devices in search of redemption really propels the audience towards a cinematic climax.

11. Alex Cross (2012)

PG-13 | 101 min | Action, Crime, Mystery

30 Metascore

A homicide detective is pushed to the brink of his moral and physical limits as he tangles with a ferociously skilled hired killer who specializes in torture and pain.

Director: Rob Cohen | Stars: Tyler Perry, Matthew Fox, Rachel Nichols, Edward Burns

Votes: 31,249 | Gross: $25.89M

My Rating: 7******* love the Alex Cross character and perhaps it is impossible to top Morgan Freeman's past performances as Alex Cross in the 1997 film Kiss the Girls and the 2001 film Along Came a Spider. Tyler Perry definitely falls short of the mark but the film has its moments.

Director: Andrew Weiner | Stars: Joe Egender, Haydyn Foster, Brian Henderson, Luke Geissbuhler

My Rating: 7******* A Die Hard wannabee. And I really wanted to like it, with Aaron Eckhart and Morgan Freeman in the cast. Reminded me of the old Cold War propaganda movies, except in this case the enemy closely resembles the North Koreans. Alas, all I can say is Wait for it on DVD.
