This movie remains very close to my heart for so many reasons. Main reasons are Mani Ratnam, PC Sreeram and Illayaraja. Wow! This was the first film in my life that inspired me to watch sensible films. This was the first film that made me a fan of Mani Ratnam.

3. Andha Naal (1954)

After an engineer is shot dead, several people around him relate different versions and the related incidents that may have led to the murder.

The first noir in Tamil Cinema. A classic. Such a brilliant acting by Sivaji Ganeshan and Pandari Bai. A perfect movie in all aspects. Unfortunately, the movie wasn't well received by the audience then.

4. Agni Natchathiram (1988)

A trend-setter in Tamil Cinema by Mani Ratnam. Awesome performances from Prabhu, Karthik, Amala and Vijayakumar. PC Sreeram's cinematography has inspired so many people to pursue a career in the department. Illayaraja's songs and music where a roaring hit. A perfect team work. Mani Ratnam paved way for sensible commercial cinema with AN.

5. Nayakan (1987)

A common man's struggles against a corrupt police force put him on the wrong side of the law. He becomes a don, who is loved and respected by many, but his growing power and influence exact a heavy toll.

The Indianised version of God Father. Again from Mani Ratnam, PC Sreeram and Illayaraja. Brilliant acting by Kamal Haasan that fetched him a National Award then. Awesome!

A great movie from Balu Mahendra. The movie's realistic treatment makes me love this one whenever I watch.

Wowww! Evergreen comedy movie from Shridhar. Evergreen songs from Vishwanathan-Ramamoorthy. Incredible performances by the legends Balaiah, Nagesh and Muthuraman. Best comedy movie of all times.

One of the best comedies from K.Balachander. Nagesh, Balaiah, Major Sundarrajan, Muthuraman, Sowcar Janaki, Kanchana steal the show. I personally learn this movie for it's best storytelling and screenplay techniques.
