Top 10 Remakes / Reboots / Reimaginings / Reinvigorationsby Pjtaylor-96-138044 | created - 17 Dec 2016 | updated - 17 Dec 2016 | Public
These are my ten favourite remakes (an updated version of the original story), reboots (a new story based on the original one), reimaginings (the same basic premise or characters reinvented for a new story) or reinvigorations (the same characters as before but brought back years later for a new franchise - perhaps handing down the torch). The list focuses on the quality of these new films, and not whether they are better than the original - which most aren't.

This movie essentially reinvigorates the Mad Max franchise, first started in 1979 with Mad Max, as it features the same eponymous character and overall world but uses an unspecified time-frame and different actors.

This film, in some ways, serves as a reboot to the 1995 flick Judge Dredd starring Sylvester Stallone while reimagining the overall premise as a darker, gritty and violent one (more akin to the 2000AD comics the eponymous character debuted in.)
