14. I Am Twenty (1965)
189 min | Drama
Following three lifelong friends who return to Moscow after military service, we see their aspirations juxtaposed against everyday life in 1960 Soviet Union.
It is much more about the generation change, with a youth looking for a new lifestyle and without a cause and facing adulthood as a boring routine, contrasting with a previous generarion that faced much harsher difficulties in war but also motivated by the struggle against fascism, than properly about a story. Indeed, there are many small stories in characters' lives which do not form a strong comnnection and in my opinion many of them should have been cut off in order to have a lighter, sorter and more lapidated film (perhaps half of its length would be necessary). In the end of first half (the movie is divided in a juvinile half and in an adult one) and in almost all the second screenplay seems less solid, lost in a difusion of events unnecessary to show the environment (what is done beautifully in the first hour, with a magnificent cinematography and camera moves) or to pass a message. What begins brilliantly, seeming a lighter version of great classics from Mikhail Kalatozov's moviemaking and cinematography, ends somewhat boring and unfocused. Another cut would make the film much better, a masterpiece.

The reality rests around the main character, whose existence there is obviously not real; though, there is little story.
18. Grands soirs & petits matins (1978)
240 min | Documentary

The documentary is obviously important, as it shows from inside what hapened in May 1968. Though, it is quite a brute material, with endless talks that drive to nowhere, being somewhat boring even for someone who loves politics and history.

13 min | Documentary, Short, Family
THREE WOMEN AND A LITTLE GIRL SYMBOLIZE THROUGH THEIR STORIES THE YEARNINGS OF THE GARÍFUNA COMMUNITY OF PUNTA GORDA, THE FIRST GARÍFUNA COMMUNITY IN THE HISTORY OF HONDURAS.

Beautiful cinematography, but it seems more a sequence of moving photographies than properly a documentary.

TV-PG | 63 min | Animation, Drama, Romance
Told in three interconnected segments, we follow a young man named Takaki through his life as cruel winters, cold technology, and finally, adult obligations and responsibility converge to test the delicate petals of love.
Beautiful drawing but very uninteresting, empty and boring story. As the previous film, this one is in this list for a different reason than the others.
