This functions as a season premiere, a jumping-on episode and an epilogue to the season finale. This one is bearing a lot of expositional weight and uses the "Over Here" Agent Lincoln Lee as the audience's way into the story. If you want to end the series on a solid emotional climax, this makes a good series finale. The villain's real goal is revealed and there are stakes that make you feel for everyone involved. There is heroic sacrifice, but it's quiet and feels real. The next two episodes really don't change anything, but only add some spectacle. Seriously, STOP HERE and treat this as the SERIES FINALE

Director: Joe Chappelle | Stars: Anna Torv, Joshua Jackson, Lance Reddick, Blair Brown

Votes: 1,406

A WIRED MUST-WATCH - I'm going to argue with Wired on this one after the last episode. This feels like a regular episode, but it does start to pull all the technical story threads together. If you're into this episode, watch the next one, but spectacle and one totally BS reveal (even with the possibilities of alternate timelines) is really all you'll get in this episode and its second part.

Director: Joe Chappelle | Stars: Anna Torv, Joshua Jackson, Lance Reddick, Blair Brown

Votes: 1,558

A WIRED MUST-WATCH - I'm going to argue with Wired on this one, too. This is the WRITING STAFF'S SERIES FINALE as they expected the show to not have a Fifth Season. However, you'll find yourself calling foul as mountains of sci-fi technobabble get thrown around and plot points feel like a game of three-card monte. Still, it's an episode of Fringe, so it still is better than most TV from the oughts. DO NOT PROCEED TO SEASON FIVE. Really, just don't.
