Why Steve Guttenberg is The Perfect Fit for The Goldbergs

Some people decide to be actors but then acting does not agree with them, or they do one movie and fall off the face of the earth. For instance, we all loved watching “E.T: The Extra-Terrestrial” and although Henry Thomas who starred as young Elliot made his career out of the film not one of the subsequent films he appeared in had such fame. Likewise, Steve Guttenberg made his career in the 1980s, but he has continued to fade away until Adam revived him with the show “The Goldbergs.” Let’s guess why Adam saw it fit to have Steve on

15 Highest-Grossing American Remakes of Foreign Films, From ‘Godzilla’ to ‘The Departed’ (Photos)
Opening this weekend is “The Upside,” an American remake of “The Intouchables,” a film that made so much money in France that it became a cultural event. After earning $166 million in France, the country’s second highest grossing film ever, and over $426 million worldwide, an American remake of the film was inevitable. But surprisingly, box office hits abroad don’t always translate when remade with American actors, and the ones that do rarely resemble their original inspiration. Here are the highest grossing American remakes of foreign films (all domestic box office figures via Box Office Mojo).

16 Moments From the Tower of Terror Movie That Sent Your Happiness Plummeting to the Basement

  • BuzzSugar
A lot of people know Tower of Terror as one of Disney's most iconic rides (Rip to the Disneyland one), but the creepy story behind it is what really makes us want to scream. The ride was originally based off of numerous episodes of The Twilight Zone, and Disney stayed pretty true to the tale when they decided to make the movie in 1997. The story follows Buzzy Crocker (Steve Guttenberg), an out-of-work newspaper editor whose stories attract the attention of an old woman named Abigail Gregory. Abigail claims that she witnessed an incident at the Hollywood Tower Hotel in 1939 when five guests - singer Carolyn Crosson, her boyfriend Gilbert London, child actress Sally Shine, her nanny Emeline Partridge, and bellhop Dewey Todd - were killed when the elevator they were riding in while on their way to a party at the hotel's Tip Top Club plummeted to the basement.

Review: ‘Chasing the Blues’ is an Enjoyable Record-Seeking Road Trip

The rarest of items can claim a collector’s soul if he/she isn’t careful. When that item — something thought to be merely myth — is held in your hands, you never know what you might do to ensure it stays there. Some collect for the thrill of the chase, others for the sense of ownership possession provides alongside the jealousy it instills in those without. Which one you tell yourself you are isn’t necessarily the truth, though. We want to believe our intentions are pure, but the allure of victory is a potent thing able to push us past a line we never believed we could cross. This is the point where Alan (Grant Rosenmeyer) and Paul (Ronald L. Conner) found themselves twenty years ago.

This is what derailed them, turning their teacher and record shop owner respectively into criminals. They each wanted an elusive copy of a

Tyler Hoechlin & Julianne Hough in Official Trailer for Biopic 'Bigger'

"How would you like to be the face of bodybuilding?" Freestyle Releasing has debuted an official trailer for an indie biopic titled Bigger, from filmmaker George Gallo. The film tells the story of the grandfathers of fitness as we now know it, Joe & Ben Weider. Facing anti-Semitism and extreme poverty, the brothers beat all odds to build an empire and inspire generations. Along the way, they discovered Arnold Schwarzenegger and founded bodybuilding as a sport. This stars Tyler Hoechlin as Joe Weider, plus Julianne Hough, Kevin Durand, Colton Haynes, Victoria Justice, DJ Qualls, Steve Guttenberg, Robert Forster, Aneurin Barnard, Max Martini, Tom Arnold, along with Calum Von Moger as a young Arnold. This doesn't look as good as it should, and seems a bit oddly timed to focus on the "impeccable man" in this day and age. Isn't machoism becoming a bit old fashioned? I'd rather watch a documentary about body builders.

Steve Guttenberg hints at a new assignment for Police Academy

Steve Guttenberg’s last outing with the Police Academy franchise was way back in 1987 with Police Academy 4: Citizens on Patrol. The final instalment for the ramshackle collection of police officers was part 7’s Mission to Moscow in 1994. Now it appears that not only will the hugely popular series return, but if you’re to believe the Twitter account of Guttenberg, Officer Carey Mahoney himself might re-join the force.

Steve Guttenberg Says That a New Police Academy Movie is Coming

There have been reports of a Police Academy reboot happening for years. The last thing we heard about it was that Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele were brought in to produce the film. That was back in 2014 and a lot has happened since then, especially with Peele's success after Get Out became a huge hit.

Well, according to Police Academy actor Steve Guttenberg, there is a new film coming. He doesn't offer any details and we don't know if Key and Peele are still involved, but I hope they are. I always enjoyed their style of comedy. Here's the Tweet Guttenberg posted:

‘Roe v. Wade’ Movie Gets Financing (Exclusive)

  • Variety
Bcl Finance Group, a fund headed by Adi Cohen, Michael Bassick and Michael Laundon, has signed a deal to complete the financing of political legal drama “Roe v. Wade.”

The film finished shooting in July. Bcl Finance made the announcement on Tuesday, with U.S. Senate beginning confirmation hearings on the nomination of Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court. Kavanaugh’s views on abortion are expected to be a major component of those hearings.

Bcl Finance said it anticipates a wide U.S. release in winter. The company said “Roe v. Wade” is the “untold” story of the 1973 U.S. Supreme Court decision that found that a right to privacy under the Due Process Clause of the 14th Amendment extended to a woman’s decision to have an abortion.

The film stars Jon Voight as Chief Justice Warren Burger, Robert Davi as Justice William Brennan, Stacey Dash as National Right to Life president Mildred Mildred Jefferson,

Hope You're Ready For More 'Police Academy,' Because Steve Guttenberg Is

One of the most successful comedy franchises of the 1980s-90s — Police Academy — is, according to actor Steve Guttenberg, ready to make a comeback. Launched in 1984, the original was an admittedly dopey series of films that spanned 10 years and seven adventures. The premise was a simple one: a newly-elected mayor passes a law that the police department must accept all willing recruits. The result? The motliest group of cops you've ever seen, one more dysfunctional than the next. The only true voice of sanity there was Steve's Cary Mahoney, who, over the course of the series, found himself promoted from cadet to officer and, finally, sergeant. Well, according to a recent Twitter posting, we've got a new entry coming. When fan Adam Hirschovitz wrote to him, "Please tell me you're making a new Police Academy film," Steve tweeted back, "Adam, the next Police Academy is coming, no details yet, but
