Box Office: ‘John Wick 3’ to Dethrone ‘Avengers: Endgame’ With $50 Million-Plus Opening
“John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum” is gearing up to take down Earth’s Mightiest Heroes.

Lionsgate’s third installment of the Keanu Reeves action franchise is over-performing forecasts, which had been in the $30 million and $35 million range. With at least $50 million at 3,850 sites, it should handily beat the fourth weekend of Disney-Marvel’s megahit “Avengers: Endgame,” which is heading for about $30 million.

The first “John Wick” debuted with $14.4 million in 2014 and 2017’s “John Wick: Chapter Two” launched with $30.4 million. “John Wick 3” sees Reeves return as an ex-hitman on the run from assassins. Stuntman-turned-director Chad Stahelski helmed the movie, written by series creator Derek Kolstad. Halle Berry, Laurence Fishburne, Mark Dacascos and Asia Kate Dillon also star.

Avengers: Endgame” is due to decline by about 53%, following decreases of 58% in the second and third weekends following its historic $357 million launch in late April.

Avengers: Endgame” is currently the third-highest-grossing movie of

A Dogs Journey – Review

The first A Dog’S Purpose was a gooey, family-friendly tear-jerker, but this 50-something dog-lover fell right into its heartfelt paws and it ended up on my top ten list of 2017’s best films. It told the story of one devoted dog who discovers the meaning of his own existence by dropping dead every half hour or so (after his life has run its course) and becoming reincarnated as a newborn pup with a diverse series of new owners. Josh Gaad voiced the hound and while the first film was like an episodic panorama of America as viewed through a dog’s innocent eyes, the sequel offers up a different narrative structure. A Dogs Journey focuses on Clarity Jane (fortunately shortened to Cj), the step-granddaughter of Dennis Quaid’s returning Ethan, and all of the different dogs (who have the same soul and are again voiced by Gaad) who guard

Dennis Quaid: I've always been a dog person

Actor Dennis Quaid believes pets teach people a lot about life. He was happy to open up on this facet through his film "A Dog's Journey".

A sequel to the heartwarming "The Dog's Purpose", the film is directed by Gail Mancuso. Based on a novel by W. Bruce Cameron with the same name, "A Dog's Journey" is about the adventures of Bailey (dog) through multiple lives.

"I've always been a dog person and each one I have had has meant a lot to me. They're a member of the family, as well as a sponge that can take on your personality," Quaid said in a statement.

"When they go, it's usually the first time that children learn about death in their life. That's what's so beautiful about these movies, with Bailey's reincarnation and coming back as this same spirit," he added.

Quaid will be seen as Bailey's best friend Ethan.

Movie Review – A Dog’s Journey (2019)

A Dog’s Journey, 2019.

Directed by Gail Mancuso.

Starring Dennis Quaid, Betty Gilpin, Josh Gad, Abby Ryder Fortson, Marg Helgenberger, Kathryn Prescott, Ian Chen, Daniela Barbosa, Jake Manley, and Henry Lau.

A dog finds the meaning of his own existence through the lives of the humans he meets.

Two things become clear while watching A Dog’s Journey; for how spirited and playful and joyful Josh Gad is doing the voiceover work for the reincarnated canine soul, the films would most likely function better emotionally without such an overbearing presence in favor of a degree of subtlety. The second is that the book source material from W. Bruce Cameron is much more adult-oriented, meaning that these family-friendly adaptations are stripping down the heart of the stories in order for Hollywood to manufacture something palatable for all audiences. It doesn’t work, as in both movies there’s always heavier

Will ‘John Wick: Chapter 3’ Carry Out a Much-Needed Box Office Hit for Lionsgate?

After three weeks of mostly “Avengers”-fueled windfalls for the box office, the market is starting to slow down again heading into Memorial Day Weekend. Disney might be able to boost numbers again next week with “Aladdin,” but for now, Lionsgate is hoping to win over audiences looking for a more mature action flick with “John Wick: Chapter 3 — Parabellum.”

The return of the Keanu Reeves revenge series comes as Lionsgate tries to rebuild after two years of box office frustration. 2018 saw domestic grosses plummet to $388 million, and new heads Joe Drake and Nathan Kahane have set out to rebrand Lionsgate as a studio that can be a haven for creators, particularly those with original ideas.

Trial by Fire review – old-fashioned death row drama pulses with anger

Jack O’Connell and Laura Dern impress in a sturdy, no-frills retelling of an enraging true story about a man who might have been wrongfully convicted of killing his children

Quietly premiering at last year’s Telluride film festival alongside bigger, splashier titles, the worthy fact-based drama Trial by Fire quickly became one of the season’s most inevitable casualties, a crushing lack of buzz immediately putting an end to any potential awards run. A decade or so ago, this might not have been the case. Based on the true story of a man claiming wrongful imprisonment, directed by Oscar-winning film-maker and producer Edward Zwick, scripted by Geoffrey Fletcher, the Oscar-winning screenwriter of Precious and starring two-time Oscar nominee Laura Dern, it’s the sort of sturdy prestige-y project that would have been a contender in a different, simpler time.

Detective Pikachu Slides Into 2nd as Endgame Continues Dominating the Box Office

The Intruder Movie Review: Thrilling but predictable

While this film is decently mounted, setting the premise on the roll with a few forced but tense thrilling moments, the predictability and absurdity of the plot is what makes this film dismissible.

Scott, a creative director in an Advertising Agency and his wife Annie decide to start a family, so they buy a nice "house of their dreams" in Napa Valley which is a hundred-year-old mid-sized bungalow on the outskirts of the city and somewhat isolated in a forested area.

Initially, after they move in, everything appears normal except for a few untoward incidents that were dismissed off. But when Charlie, the amiable seller of the bungalow who was supposed to fly out to Florida to be with his daughter, persistently shows up on one pretext or the other, Mike (Joseph Sikora) Scott's close friend and office colleague warns him that something is amiss.

One fine day Scott is
