Disney’s The Little Mermaid 30th Anniversary at The Hollywood Bowl

On Friday, May 18th, Wamg went under the sea for the 30th Anniversary “Live to Film Concert Experience” of Disney’s The Little Mermaid at the Hollywood Bowl.

There was no shortage of star power as some big names took the stage during the screening to sing all of the fan-favorite numbers. Lea Michele (as Ariel), Harvey Fierstein (as Ursula), Cheech Marin (as Chef Louis), Peter Gallagher (as King Triton), Leo Gallo (as Prince Eric), Ken Page (as Sebastian) and special guest Alan Menken, who performed the songs from the Oscar and Grammy-winning score as the film played on the Bowl’s movie screen accompanied by a full, live orchestra. Not gonna lie, we almost wept, when the beating-heart-of-Disney-musicals himself, Alan Menken walked out on stage and sat at the piano for a sweet rendition of “Part of Your World.”

The coolest part of the evening was the feeling of

NBC 2019 Fall Schedule: Manifest, Will & Grace Pushed to Midseason!

Stability is the name of the game at NBC as the network heads into the 2019-20 TV season.

With only one new drama and two new comedies on the fall schedule, the network is keeping things simple.

New Jimmy Smitts legal drama, Bluff City Law is taking the 10/9c post-The Voice slot.

NBC typically uses that slot to launch new dramas, but given that The Voice has been fading this season, there's a good chance it won't be the solid launch pad it once was.

This move leaves Manifest off the fall schedule to allow for uninterupted 2020 run, which is probably a good thing given the serialized nature of the series.

The Good Place is moving to 9/8c on a permanent basis for its fourth season. It will be sandwiched between new comedies, Perfect Harmony and Sunnyside.

Brooklyn Nine-Nine and Will & Grace are both being held for midseason.

Lea Michele's "Part of Your World" Performance Proves She's Going to Be an Amazing Ariel

Lea Michele is already preparing for her role as Ariel in the Hollywood Bowl's live performance of The Little Mermaid. During Disney night on American Idol, the former Glee star gave a dazzling performance of "Part of Your World" on stage. Wearing a mermaid-esque jumpsuit, Michele sounded just like a Disney princess as she belted the lyrics to the iconic song alongside a few American Idol contestants.

The 32-year-old singer will play the magical mermaid alongside Harvey Fierstein, Cheech Marin, Peter Gallagher, and more stars for two performances on May 17 and 18 in celebration of the film's 30th anniversary. The Hollywood Bowl previously put on a live production of the Disney movie back in 2016 with Sara Bareilles as the title character and Michele's former Glee star Darren Criss as Prince Eric. If Michele's recent performance is any indication, she's going to crush it as Ariel!

‘After’ Film Review: Harry Styles Fan-Fic Adaptation Goes in One Direction — South

‘After’ Film Review: Harry Styles Fan-Fic Adaptation Goes in One Direction — South
James Dean quit rolling in his grave out of boredom ages ago. Harry Styles is still alive, but why shouldn’t he start practicing now? “After,” one of the more plastic molds of troubled heartthrob storytelling in recent memory — based on Anna Todd’s popular Harry-inspired fanfic, in which the One Direction singer embodies a brooding college student — is the kind of dispiriting effort that thinks it’s scratching an itch for masochistic young girls, but primarily suggests that romance, desire and sexuality aren’t worth genuinely exploring.

“After,” which wasn’t screened in advance for critics, also falls into that desperately referential category of love story that name-checks Austen and the Brontes as if that automatically places itself in the same lineage of swoon-worthy classics. Except that when straight-arrow freshman Tessa and British bad-boy Hardin (Hero Fiennes Tiffin) duke it out in lit class over “Pride and Prejudice” — she calls it feminist and empowering,

Film Review: ‘After’

Film Review: ‘After’
When Tessa Young (Josephine Langford), the heroine of “After,” arrives for her freshman year at Washington State University, we can tell in a skipped heartbeat that next to her surroundings, she’s as sweet and dewy and wholesome a goody-two-shoes as the title character of Tom Wolfe’s college-and-Gomorrah novel “I Am Charlotte Simmons.” Tessa’s roommate, played by the model with attitude Khadijha Red Thunder, sports crimson ringlets and a nose ring and fishnets and Doc Martens, all the whole flaunting the car-wreck sensuality of a porn star. At a frat party, Tessa, in an outfit so modest that one girl snickers at it as if it were a sackcloth, gets drawn into a game of Truth or Dare, a surefire way to reveal that (duh!) she’s still a virgin.

And then there’s Hardin Scott, the moody British dreamboat played by Hero Fiennes-Tiffin, the 21-year-old nephew of Ralph and Joseph Fiennes,
