July 4th Blu-ray & DVD Releases Include Bethany, Awakening The Zodiac, Windows, Here Alone

Happy Independence Day, everyone! While most of us in the Us are busy with BBQs and enjoying some outdoor fun, that doesn’t mean this week’s Blu-ray and DVD releases are taking any time off, as we have a handful of titles making their debuts on July 4th.

Scream Factory has given the cult psychological thriller Windows something of an HD upgrade this week with their brand new Blu-ray, and we have several indie titles arriving on both formats as well, including Accidental Exorcist, Here Alone, Bethany, and Awakening the Zodiac. Rounding out the July 4th home releases are Peelers and a 9-movie creature feature set on DVD featuring all sorts of murderous beasties.

Last night I watched a movie that was so rotten, that not only was I not able to write a review for it, but I felt like a needed a palette cleanser. The makers of the Independent Cult Horror feature film Skew (2011) bring you their balls-to-the-wall action/horror follow-up flick Peelers.

Directed by Sevé Schelenz, starring Wren Walker, Caz Odin Darko, and Madison J. Loos, Peelers will have its Canadian theatrical release March 24, 2017 (from TWMedia Events) and release on VOD March 28, 2017 (from Uncork’d Entertainment).

Former baseball player Blue Jean Douglas is closing down her small-town strip club and leaving for good. But her plans are not so easily attained when a group of coal miners show up and with them a deadly contaminant. What starts out as a last hurrah for the infamous strip club, turns into a blood bath. Interview with Peelers actress Wren Walker

Morehorror.com sat down with Wren Walker, star of the upcoming horror film Peelers, to talk about the film.

Jonathan Weichsel: So, you have a new movie out called Peelers. I watched the trailer this afternoon and it looks awesome. I know you star in it. Care to tell me about your character?

Wren Walker: You liked the teaser? Awesome!! I play Blue Jean Douglas, a baseball loving former stripper turned owner of Titty Balls, a strip club in a nowhere town. She's tough as hell.

Jonathan Weichsel: Sounds awesome! I know you beat out two hundred other actresses for the role. What was the audition process like?

Wren Walker: I was literally the last girl to audition. I found the ad on Craigslist and was stoked to see if I could be in a horror movie, since I'm a huge fan of the genre myself.
