  • (1975) He wrote the screenplay for a television pilot, for ABC, based upon his 1972 movie, Sounder (1972). The proposed series wasn't picked up.
  • (December 30, 1971) He co-starred (as "Clem") in "Day of Absence," a drama directed by Paul Bogart and written by Douglas Turner Ward. It was broadcast as part of the "Hollywood Television Theatre" series on PBS.
  • (1973) He co-starred in an unsold television pilot for ABC called "Pomroy's People". The program was written by Earl Hamner Jr., and starred Brock Peters as a minister in rural Kentucky.
  • (February 11, 1959) He played Bobo in Lorraine Hansberry's play, "A Raisin in the Sun," at the Blackstone Theatre in Chicago, Illinois with Ruby Dee (Ruth Younger); Glynn Turman (Travis Younger); Sidney Poitier (Walter Lee Younger); Diana Sands (Beneatha Younger); Claudia McNeil (Lena Younger); Ivan Dixon (Joseph Asagai); Lou Gossett (George Murchison); John Fiedler (Karl Lindner) and Douglas Turner and Ed Hall (moving men) in the cast. Philip Rose and David J. Cogan were producers. Lloyd Richards was director.
