Paul Rudd Succeeded Where Ryan Gosling Couldn't - He Made It Through This SNL Skit
How does Paul Rudd keep a straight face with Kate McKinnon crawling all over him? No, I'm genuinely curious because the man has succeeded where many others have failed. Rudd hosted Saturday Night Live's season finale on May 18 and participated in a skit familiar to actors Ryan Gosling, Brie Larson, and Liev Schreiber.

He joined McKinnon and Cecily Strong in a"paranormal encounters" sketch, which is a fan-favorite for getting hosts to break character, but Rudd held strong. He kept his cool as McKinnon thrusted against his neck and stuck her tongue in his ears, never letting a tiny smile or chuckle betray him. Sorry, but Gosling could never. Watch the full skit above to see Rudd's impressive feat - he's the only host to ever make it through without breaking.

Not going to lie: I had no idea who Keanu Reeves was until my mom told me she was obsessed with him. In fact, she tried to convince me that the 54-year-old actor was the "Ryan Gosling of her generation." So I decided to do some digging and watched a couple of his movies. And, oh my! Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure. The Matrix. John Wick. Reeves is not only a beautiful face but also a versatile actor. No wonder he's been going strong for 25 years. To see what all the fuss is about - or just for a good pick-me-up - here are 45 photos of the Canadian actor being his charming self over the past two decades.

Nicolas Winding Refn’s Noir Series ‘Too Old To Die Young’: It’s All About Teens & Female Empowerment – Crew Call Podcast
“When I made this show, I was interested in going into the world of where the teenagers control,” says director Nicolas Winding Refn, who returns to Cannes for a fourth time in eight years with his upcoming Amazon Lapd cop streaming series Too Old to Die Young, which he co-created with Ed Brubaker.

“This is their domain,” says Refn about his newfound love for streaming, which he declared to the world after the premiere of episodes 4 & 5 at the Grand Lumiere Theatre on Saturday night. The series hits Amazon Prime on June 14, and as cinematic as it is, there are no plans in the works for a special limited two-city release by the streamer — just so Refn fans can savor it on the big screen.

“I don’t want to bring them into where I’m from,” the Danish director says about teen audiences and the cinema. “I don’t need to,

‘Too Old To Die Young’ Review: Dir. Nicolas Winding Refn (2019) [Cannes]

Amazon Studios

Episodes seen: 2 (144 mins), Cannes Film Festival 2019.

Nicolas Winding Refn returns to Cannes for the first time since the polarising The Neon Demon made its debut back in 2016. Three years on and it is a very different product, albeit with similar themes and tones; a TV series set for release on Amazon next month. Too Old To Die Young is very much a different direction for the filmmaker with 900 minutes of content promised over ten episodes, two of which, running at around 140 minutes in total, played at the festival at a late screening on Friday evening with the cast and filmmaker in attendance at the famous Palais.

Teaming with Ed Brubaker (Westworld), the crime series lies somewhere in its themes, tone and accessibility between his 2011 Cannes winner Drive, and fellow Ryan Gosling-starrer Only God Forgives. Miles Teller leads the cast of this new piece as Martin, an La

Too Old to Die Young review - Nicolas Winding Refn's dead-eyed La nightmare

The Only God Forgives director has made his first foray into TV with a supernatural noir series, and it’s just as horrible and upsetting as you’d expect

When I spoke to Nicolas Winding Refn at the Lumiere film festival in Lyon a while back, he told me that though cinema would find a way to return in the digital multiplatform age: “Television is dead. And television will not be reborn.” He can only of course have meant that mischievously, because Refn has just completed a huge new TV show, a quasi-supernatural La horror-thriller noir entitled Too Old to Die Young, two episodes of which premiered on the bigger-than-big screen of the Grand Theatre Lumiere at Cannes. The programme is produced by Amazon, with whom Cannes’s relations are considerably better than with Netflix. It incidentally contains a clip of Curtis Harrington’s cult thriller Night Tide, starring Dennis Hopper,

In Era Where Netflix Is Sidelined At Cannes, Nicolas Winding Refn Champions Streaming At Premiere Of His Amazon Series ‘Too Old To Die Young’
Three years after director Nicolas Winding Refn defended the theatrical experience before exhibitors at CinemaCon 2016, tonight at the Cannes premiere of his Amazon series Too Old To Die Young, the Danish filmmaker expressed his love for streaming before a packed house in the Grand Lumiere Theatre. Refn made these remarks following a roughly four-minute standing ovation for the series, of which episodes 4 and 5 were shown. Too Old To Die Young will stream on Amazon Prime on June 14.

Said Refn:

“Today is year zero. The idea that streaming is a new canvas around us, it’s part of the digital revolution and it flows 24 hours a day, seven days a week, if we can just tap into it and experience creativity. And it’s for everyone. And this show represents the opportunities that can be done in the digital revolution of technology. I suddenly had this opportunity. My wife’s biological father is Fritz Lang,

Exclusive Interview: Mary Harron Talks Charlie Says, Matt Smith And American Psycho

Most known for 2000’s American Psycho, director Mary Harron has eerily combined social commentary with gruesome, grotesque violence. With that in mind, the Manson Family and the shockingly random Tate-labianca murders of 1969 seem like a perfect centerpiece for her to examine.

And that’s exactly what her latest project, Charlie Says, does. Based specifically around the experiences of the three incarcerated women from the Family, the film dissects the pathetic, dehumanizing jargon Charles Manson (Doctor Who‘s Matt Smith) used to create killers out of innocent people.

Recently, I had the chance to speak with Mrs. Harron about her upcoming movie, as well as the casting and stylistic choices behind it. See what she had to say below, and enjoy!

As a director, what drew you into telling this story about Charles Manson? Or rather the women around him?

Mary Harron: Like many people, I’ve been fascinated by the

TV Review: George Clooney’s ‘Catch-22’

TV Review: George Clooney’s ‘Catch-22’
Only television could contain “Catch-22.” Joseph Heller’s capacious World War II novel, stuffed with philosophical monologues, paradoxes, and a wide-ranging cast of expendable flyboys centered on the inertly gloomy Yossarian, provides little foothold for any potential reworking. A 1970 feature adaptation was so fraught that a Time cover story on the director quoted him as saying he was “pregnant with a dead child” during production. George Clooney’s new attempt, streaming on Hulu May 17, signals the star’s ambition, and his pragmatism. The archetypal movie star executive produced the series, appears in it, and directed two episodes, and he has come to TV for a reason: It’s a way to surmount a tricky piece of the American literary canon, but to do so with the benefit of six hours and streaming-service money.

But if only TV could make “Catch-22,” perhaps only TV would be foolhardy enough to try. The

Dan Fogelman Inks Mega New Overall Deal With 20th Century Fox Television
This Is Us creator Dan Fogelman is staying put at 20th Century Fox TV, signing a massive new five-year deal with the studio behind the hit NBC drama.

Under the pact, Fogelman will continue to help steer This Is Us, which is headed into its fourth season, and develop new series for the studio, now owned by Disney, through his Rhode Island Ave. Productions. (This Is Us has bot been renewed by NBC but that is considered a formality.)

Fogelman was one of the biggest names on 20th TV’s roster to come into play this year. It was important for the studio to step up to keep him and it did so. No one would comment but I hear Fogelman’s new deal is in the nine figures.

This is the latest big overall deal announced by 20th TV since its acquisition by Disney (along with other key 21st Century Fox

Nicolas Winding Refn’s ‘Drive’ Is Returning To Blu-ray With The Alternative Soundtrack

One of the best films in recent years, in my opinion, has to be Nicolas Winding Refn’s Drive. Every time I see it I get more from it, and it has to have one of the most original soundtracks – in terms of the score by Cliff Martinez, or the music choices – of the decade. A few years back, the BBC did a very original experiment where it got Radio 1 and Zane Lowe to come up with an alternative soundtrack for a one-off broadcast. Although I personally prefer the original stuff, it was great to see a different interpretation. Well, that version is now coming to Blu-ray with new box-art and bonus content. All of the delicious details are below.

Drive stars Ryan Gosling, Cary Mulligan, Bryan Cranston (Breaking Bad), Christina Hendricks (The Neon Demon) and Ron Perlman (Hellboy). Icon Film Distribution presents Nicolas Winding Refn‘s Drive on

Stalkers on screen: How has Malayalam cinema treated romantic pursuit?

MollywoodCan stalking someone be considered a legitimate way of wooing?Aradhya KurupShe enters the room, unaware that a man has sneaked under her bed. After drawing the curtains, she undresses, and the man gets a peek of her in the nude. Overwhelmed, he walks out in a daze as the landlady shouts after him. He reaches his apartment, still in a daze, and describes her at length to his equally curious friend. It’s a much celebrated cutesy, romantic scene from the Priyadarshan film, Vandanam, where Mohanlal plays that guy under the bed and looks adorable and endearing as well. Now picture this in real life. Imagine a guy hidden under your bed, watching you while you undress, following and pestering you at work, while you are travelling and at home? Imagine him blackmailing you for an intimate hug in office and even getting away with it? And imagine him
