He and Petter Næss first adapted Ingvar Ambjørnsen's novel, "Elling", and a new English adaptation by Simon Bent was at the Ethel Barrymore Theater on Broadway in New York City with Brendan Fraser, Denis O'Hare, Jennifer Coolidge and Richard Easton in the cast. Doug Hughes was the director.
