Because of his prowess with bow and arrow, held the unofficial title "world's greatest archer."
Inducted into the Alabama Sports Hall of Fame, 1971
Graduated from Auburn University (API at the time) in 1923 where he played football and basketball.
Doubled several times in archery scenes for Errol Flynn during the 1940's.
Inducted into the Bowhunters Hall of Fame.
Inducted into the Archery Hall of Fame in 1972 (inaugural class).
