She is an actress and writer, known for The Little Shop of Horrors (1960), Small Soldiers (1998) and Gremlins (1984). She has been married to David Lawrence since December 2, 2003. She was previously married to Ken Berry.

Adopted, with husband Ken Berry, two children: John Kenneth (born May 1964 and died January 8, 2016 from a brain tumor) and Jennifer Kate (born April 1965).
