He was a director and writer, known for Night Train (1959), Mother Joan of the Angels (1961) and Smierc prezydenta (1977). He was married to Malgorzata Dipont, Maria Güntner and Lucyna Winnicka. He died on December 27, 2007 in Warsaw, Mazowieckie, Poland.
