‘Pretty Little Liars’ Will Be Unavailable to Stream Until HBO Max Launch After Netflix Departure (Exclusive)
Sorry #Pll fans: “Pretty Little Liars” is rolling off Netflix in the U.S. later this month — and the teen mystery drama will not be available on any streaming platform in the States until WarnerMedia’s HBO Max officially launches in early 2020, Variety has learned.

All seven season of “Pretty Little Liars” are leaving Netflix’s U.S. streaming service as of July 27. This week, WarnerMedia announced that “Pll” would be coming exclusively to HBO Max — its newly monikered subscription-streaming service set to launch commercially in spring 2020 — along with “Friends” and other shows.

Until HBO Max debuts, “Pll” will be be unavailable in the U.S. on any subscription VOD or ad-supported VOD service, according to sources familiar with the situation. Fans of the show will still be able to purchase the full run of “Pretty Little Liars” on DVD and from digital storefronts including Apple iTunes, Google Play and Amazon Video.

What’s Coming to HBO Max: Shows, Movies Announced for WarnerMedia Streaming Service (So Far)
WarnerMedia is diving full-bore into the streaming wars with HBO Max — a subscription service slated to bow next spring, stocked with HBO programming, original series, Warner Bros. movies and library content including the full 10-season run of “Friends.”

There’s no pricing info yet for HBO Max, nor is it fully clear how much content from HBO will be included in the subscription VOD package. The standalone HBO Now service currently costs $15 per month, so presumably HBO Max will cost more if it includes big chunks of what’s on HBO plus a slew of other content.

WarnerMedia says it expects HBO Max to have 10,000 hours of premium video content at launch. On Tuesday, it outlined some of the key shows that will be available.

Exclusive Licensed Content

“Friends”: All 236 episodes of the show, created by David Crane and Marta Kauffman, which aired for 10 seasons on NBC from 1994-

TV Review: ‘Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists’ on Freeform
Nearly every scene in “Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists” tells one specific story: This is a series that very much wants to be “Pretty Little Liars: All Grown Up.” It’s an interesting choice for a spinoff, considering the fact that the final season and a half of “Pretty Little Liars” featured a five-year time jump in order to be exactly just that, a more mature version of the series. But that transition was relatively easy to swallow, because after all the abuse and trauma the Liars (as well as everyone in their general orbit) suffered at the hands of every possible version of omniscient cyber tormentor “A,” those characters seemed to have already mentally aged a long, long time ago.

This series doesn’t have those years of torment plaguing its new characters. But it really wants its audience to know just how mature it and its characters are.
