Virginia Kirtley was born on November 11, 1888 in Bowling Green, Missouri, USA as Virginia Saffell. She was an actress and writer, known for The Midnight Adventure (1928), Who Shall Take My Life? (1917) and In the Mansion of Loneliness (1915). She was married to Eddie Lyons. She died on August 19, 1956 in Sherman Oaks, California, USA.

Began acting on stage from the age of ten. First film work with Carl Laemmle's Imp Company in 1912, joining Keystone the following year to co-star in Charlie Chaplin's screen bow, 'Making a Living'. With Selig in 1916, then Nestor in 1917, as co-star and co-writer of films featuring her husband, Eddie Lyons.
