He and Axel Hellstenius first adapted Ingvar Ambjørnsen's novel, "Elling", and a new English adaptation by Simon Bent at the Ethel Barrymore Theater on Broadway in New York City with Brendan Fraser, Denis O'Hare, Jennifer Coolidge and Richard Easton in the cast. Doug Hughes was the director.

Trivia:

In 2003 he signed a deal to direct 3 movies for 20th Century Fox. The first project is supposedly to star Josh Hartnett, while Jennifer Lopez has shown great interest in starring in the second project, titled "Earthbound" it is about a woman who has everything when she suddenly is struck with cancer.
