Avengers: Endgame’s opening scene was originally part of Avengers: Infinity War

Jeremy Renner fans were left a little disappointed last year when Clint Barton rather surprisingly sat out the events of Avengers: Infinity War, the Russo brothers opting to keep Hawkeye back for this year’s follow-up Avengers: Endgame rather than trying to force him in to an already stacked cast.

As it happens however, Hawkeye did almost make an appearance in Infinity War, as Joe Russo has revealed that Endgame’s opening scene where Clint’s family fall victim to The Decimation was originally part of last year’s film:

“We were originally going to include that at the end of Infinity War. Hawkeye wasn’t going to be in the film, and then at the end when Thanos snaps his fingers, we were going to cut to black and then come up on a family picnic at Barton’s house. We wanted the audience to be confused. ‘Why are we here,

Avengers: Endgame Star Reveals What Would Happen If Steve And Bucky Went To Vormir

In their quest to reclaim all the Infinity Stones from across time, Black Widow and Hawkeye travelled to Vormir in Avengers: Endgame in order to find the Soul Stone. While there, though, they discovered the sad truth, something fans already knew from Avengers: Infinity War: to get the Stone and save the universe, one of them had to die. Ultimately, after a self-sacrificial fight between the two heroes, Natasha Romanoff threw herself off the cliff-face and Clint Barton took home the gem.

We don’t really know how or why the Avengers decided which heroes would collect which Stones, so it could theoretically have been any pair of characters that had to make the terrible decision of which of them would die so billions could live. If you want to rip your heart out, just imagine if it was Steve Rogers and Bucky Barnes, arguably the only other Avenger

The Russos play coy on the fate of Gamora in Avengers: Endgame

Joe and Anthony Russo, the directors of Avengers: Endgame, are unsure about what happened to Zoe Saldana’s Gamora during the final battle.

One thing many expected to happen during Avengers: Endgame was that the characters killed by Thanos would return. This certainly happened and even Gamora returned – or at least an earlier version of the character before she joined the Guardians.

But what happened to her after the final snap? Was she dusted along with the rest of Thanos’ minions? Well, the Russos attempted to answer that question during an interview with Business Insider. Joe Russo said:

“We don’t know whether she was dusted or whether she survived. That’s probably a question that Guardians [3] will answer.”

Anthony added: “Quill doesn’t know either. I’m sure future films will answer that question.”

Thanos nearly teamed up with the Dark Elves in Avengers: Endgame

A Weta Digital supervisor for Avengers: Endgame says that Dark Elves from Thor: The Dark World nearly teamed up with Thanos in the final battle.

The climactic battle between Thanos and the Avengers certainly lived up to the hype, with the villain throwing everything he had and all the different forces he could muster at our heroes. However, there was nearly one more group of bad guys that joined the party.

Matt Aitken, a Weta Digital supervisor, spoke with Slash Film about Endgame and revealed that the original plan was to have some Dark Elves turn up to join Thanos: “The dark elves were mentioned, but we never got as far as rigging them or making them for the battle.”

Of course, Thanos had plenty of help without them, with various past bad guys getting in on the action, as Aitken describes: “There’s the Sakaarans, and I think we

Avengers: Endgame directors confirm that Loki created an alternate reality

Joe and Anthony Russo, the directors of Avengers: Endgame, have confirmed that Tom Hiddleston’s Loki indirectly created an alternate reality during the film.

With all the time travel involved with Avengers: Endgame, a true can of worms has been opened, along with an entire multiverse. One of these alternate realities could also have significant ramifications for the McU.

Joe and Anthony Russo, the directors of Endgame, have confirmed to Business Insider that because Loki stole the Tesseract and then disappeared, this has created another reality that never should have existed. Joe said about Captain America’s mission:

“The intent was that [Steve] was going to correct the past timelines at the point that the stones left. Loki, when he teleports away with the Time Stone, would create his own timeline. It gets very complicated, but it would be impossible for [Cap] to rectify the timeline unless he found Loki. The minute

Spider-Man Has Had More Screen Time In The McU Than Hawkeye

After 22 films across 11 years, the Marvel Cinematic Universe is so huge by now that there are countless heroes, villains and supporting characters of all shapes and sizes vying for space that not every one of our favorite characters gets the amount of screen time they might deserve. Still, it’s surprising to discover that a hero who’s been with the franchise since Phase One has seen less time in the spotlight than one who only debuted three years ago.

Following Avengers: Endgame, one fan has put together a chart of the top 16 McU characters in order of screen time. It makes for a fascinating comparison to see how much certain heroes have been on screen and how little others have. Iron Man and Captain America naturally top the ranking, with 384 and 276 minutes apiece. Rounding out the bottom of the list, though, is Hawkeye, with just 69.5 minutes to his name.

Avengers: Endgame hits $2.5 billion at the global box office

After sinking Titanic last week, Marvel Studios’ superhero epic Avengers: Endgame has reached another box office milestone yesterday as it became only the second movie in history to hit the $2.5 billion mark worldwide.

Domestically, Endgame has climbed to $728.4 million, making it the third-highest grossing North American release behind Avatar ($760.5 million) and Star Wars: The Force Awakens ($936.7 million), the latter of which’s record seems safe.

Worldwide however, only Avatar and its $2.788 billion haul stands in the way of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes cementing its place as the biggest movie of all time, and with Endgame currently sitting on $2.503 billion as it approaches its fourth weekend, it may well come down to the wire.

This week’s main competition comes from the hotly-anticipated John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum, which is expected to knock Endgame from the top of the chart before Disney unleashes its next blockbuster Aladdin the following week.

Details on a deleted Thor and Valkyrie scene from Avengers: Endgame

Despite being three hours in length, we can still expect to see a number of deleted scenes from Avengers: Endgame when the blockbuster superhero epic receives its home-entertainment release later this year. And, to give us a taste of what ended up on the cutting room floor, directors the Russo brothers have revealed a scene between Thor (Chris Hemsworth) and Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson) which was chopped from the final cut.

“In the ending, we wanted to keep it tight, so we were looking for things to squeeze there,” said Anthony Russo. “But [Thor] had this beat with Valkryie where she puts her arm on his shoulder and he sort of starts to lean in for a kiss. She goes, ‘What are you doing?’ Thor is confused. ‘Oh, I thought that touch…’ and she was like, ‘No, that was, like, a goodbye tap I was giving you. It was a really funny beat,

Avengers: Endgame directors think Tony was right to build Ultron

Anthony and Joe Russo, the directors of Avengers: Endgame, say that Tony Stark was right to build Ultron.

Cast your minds all the way back to Avengers: Age of Ultron and Tony’s decision to build the machine certainly didn’t pan out, with the AI choosing to go rogue and homicidal. But the directors of Endgame, Joe and Anthony Russo, say that Tony wasn’t wrong to have done so.

Speaking to Slate, Joe says that the idea to build a defense for the world against beings like Thanos wasn’t the wrong move: “He was not wrong that there was a great threat coming, and they needed to build a suit of armor around the world, and at what point do civil liberties trump—no pun intended—do civil liberties come before the government’s ability to protect its citizens?

“I think what’s interesting is that to some extent,

‘Avengers: Endgame’ Removed Black Widow and Thanos’ Battle on Vormir Before That Twist

‘Avengers: Endgame’ Removed Black Widow and Thanos’ Battle on Vormir Before That Twist
[Editor’s note: The following post contains spoilers for “Avengers: Endgame.”]

Black Widow’s death is widely regarded as one of the most shocking moments in “Avengers: Endgame,” and it turns out that sequence set on Vormir was originally going to be a lot different than what ended up being in the movie’s theatrical cut. As editor Matthew Schmidt revealed to Business Insider, the original “Endgame” script included a battle between Thanos and Black Widow on Vormir before the character sacrifices herself so the Avengers can obtain the Soul Stone. The scene was even shot before directors Anthony and Joe Russo decided the scene had to go in a different direction.

“On script and what we first shot was an excellent scene,” Schmidt said. “Thanos and his soldiers show up on Vormir and a small battle ensues between them and Natasha and Clint. Natasha decides to run off the cliff. Clint tries to stop her while also fending off the attack.
