Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Channing Tatum Wanted for Guys and Dolls Remake

Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Channing Tatum Wanted for Guys and Dolls Remake
Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Channing Tatum are being eyed to star in a remake of the 1955 musical classic Guys and Dolls for 20th Century Fox. The studio recently finalized a deal for the movie rights and, while offers haven't been made to the actors yet, both parties are interested in signing on.

The original musical, which starred Marlon Brando and Frank Sinatra, is based on the short stories of Damon Runyon. The story centers on Nathan Detroit (Frank Sinatra), a gambler trying to set up his own craps game, who bets his friend Sky Masterson (Frank Sinatra) that he can convince the wholesome missionary Sarah Brown (Jean Simmons) to come to Havana, Cuba with him.

There is no writer or director attached to the remake at this time. You may recall that both Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Channing Tatum showed off their singing and dancing skills at the 85th Annual Academy Awards back in February.

FX’s anthology series American Horror Story has been renewed for a third season of bat-shit cray-cray. Actress Jessica Lange, who has found a whole new generation of fans thanks to her Emmy and Golden Globe winning role on the series, will return as well.

Two video games are heading to the big screen, as CBS Films will bring Deus Ex: Human Revolution, while Warner Bros. is looking to sign Tom Hardy to star in their version of Splinter Cell, which was created with the help of Tom Clancy and has spawned several successful tie-in novels.

ABC has decided not to order the back nine for either 666 Park Avenue or Last Resort. However, both shows will remain on the air through the 13 episodes that the network ordered. [TV] H. R. Pufnstuf

"Who's your friend when things get rough?" the theme song asks us. A 7-foot, green, dragon-man with red hair, a southern accent and a mayor's sash; that's who! For a generation of kids who grew up in the late sixties (Of which I'm one) H.R. Pufnstuf holds a special, nostalgic place. Today, guys in big, rubber costumes pretending to be benign monsters went out with Barney, but there was a time when kids weren't so jaded about such things.

Looking at it today, if you aren't familiar with 60s children's TV, you might be put off by the show's deliberately psychedelic appearance and ask "What the hell were they smoking when they made this?" That's actually a valid question, since H. R. Pufnstuf was the product of a period where certain shows were marketed toward both young children and also young adult stoners. Producers Sid and Marty Krofft churned out
