Spider-Man: Far From Home Producer Teases J. Jonah Jameson In The McU

The McU’s take on Spider-Man has deliberately side-stepped characters we’ve seen on the big screen before. Mostly that’s been well-received by fans – let Uncle Ben and Harry Osborn rest a while – but one iconic part of Spidey lore we all want to see again is J. Jonah Jameson.

J.K. Simmons’ portrayal of The Daily Bugle editor was pitch-perfect in Sam Raimi’s trilogy, but it’s high time we got a new version. Could it happen in Spider-Man: Far From Home, though? Well, yes, it could.

ComicBook.com visited the set of the upcoming sequel in London and asked producer Eric Carroll about how Jameson and The Daily Bugle could be re-interpreted for the McU. Carroll revealed that this has been something the production team were thinking about during the making of Far From Home, teasing that Jameson might be on his way.

“Yes, we’ve absolutely

J. Jonah Jameson and The Daily Bugle Will Be Introduced in Spider-man: Far From Home

It looks like J. Jonah Jameson and The Daily Bugle will finally be introduced into the McU thanks to director Jon WattsSpider-Man: Far From Home.

It was revealed at a set visit for the film by producer Eric Hauserman Carroll, that we will see J. Jonah Jameson in some way in the film. He didn’t share any details on how the character would be introduced, but he did tease that when Peter Parker does enter the world of the Daily Bugle, it won’t be as a photographer.

“Yes, we’ve absolutely talked and thought about those characters a lot, specifically in reference to this film. What we just want to make sure we’re [presenting] them in a way that doesn’t make you feel instantly like you’ve seen them before. So we have a couple of ideas, some of which I can’t really go into detail because they’re spoilery,

Black Panther star Chadwick Boseman is putting down the vibranium suit to go blue and tackle a new enemy: two cop killers evading arrest after nabbing over 300 kilos of cocaine. 21 Bridges follows disgraced Detective Andre Davis (Boseman), who sees his former NYPD officer father in every murdered cop and is known as "the guy who kills cop killers."

It's not a nickname you would want in your school yearbook, but it's one that gets Andre called in to deal with a robbery gone wrong that leaves eight officers dead. Andre orders a city-wide manhunt that involves a shutdown of all the exits and entrances to Manhattan (even the rivers and tunnels) and for all officers to "flood the city with blue" to catch the suspects before they flee the city.

21 Bridges Trailer Reunites Chadwick Boseman and the Russo Brothers

Stx has released the first trailer for 21 Bridges. This is a movie that may not be on a lot of people's radar just yet, but it will be. It features Black Panther star Chadwick Boseman in the lead role reuniting him with Avengers: Endgame directors Joe and Anthony Russo, who serve as producers in what looks like an action-packed cop thriller. What's not to like? Especially considering the first trailer sets up a movie that looks like it could be extremely entertaining.

The trailer kicks off with a big, emotional beat right off the bat that helps set up the Chadwick Boseman character and his motivations. We then get to the meat of the whole thing after a very deadly crime goes south. It's then up to Boseman to stop these criminals and he comes up with a rather bold play to keep them from escaping; literally close down
