‘Riverdale’ Reveal: The Gargoyle King Unmasked In Season 3 Finale

‘Riverdale’ Reveal: The Gargoyle King Unmasked In Season 3 Finale
Spoiler Alert: This story contains details of tonight’s Riverdale Season 3 finale.

Taking it over-the-top is the bottom line for the fizzy CW series Riverdale and by that measure the Season 3 finale that aired Wednesday was top-notch for a series that is more of a pop-television tone poem than a traditional (or rational) storytelling endeavor. The season’s finish-line episode checked off all the boxes for a show, too, that yearns to be sleek, sugary, surreal, sexy, soapy, silly, and swooning – and to always look good doing it,

The young hearts of Riverdale were in Mystery Machine-mode in the “Chapter Fifty-Seven: Survive the Night” as the climatic reveal of this season’s mystery antagonist, the Gargoyle King, finally played out. There was plenty of other business dealt with, as well, as the never-dull episode sprinted through twists and

‘Riverdale’: Wyatt Nash To Recur As FBI Agent With Ties To The Town
Wyatt Nash (Glow) is set to recur on the CW’s Riverdale as an FBI agent who arrives in town to manage an ongoing investigation. The character makes his debut in tonight’s Season 3 finale.

Wyatt’s Agent Smith is intriguing, sharp, confident and — as revealed in the finale — he’s more closely tied to this town (and several of its characters) than one would guess at first glance. He will be a continued presence in Riverdale going into Season 4 in the fall.

Kj Apa, Cole Sprouse Lili Reinhart, Camila Mendes, Casey Cott and Madelaine Petsch star in the series based on the characters from Archie Comics. Riverdale is produced by Warner Bros. Television and CBS Television Studios, in association with Berlanti Productions..

Nash’s credits include the Netflix series Glow and Dear White People, earning a SAG Award nom for the latter’s ensemble. Repped by Innovative Artists and Principal Entertainment La,

‘Riverdale’ Boss on Season 3 Finale Time Jump and Gargoyle King Reveal
Spoiler Alert: Do not read if you have not yet watched “Chapter Fifty-Seven: Survive the Night,” the third season finale of “Riverdale.”

The Gargoyle King was finally unmasked on “Riverdale’s” third season finale, but like everything within that show, things were not as simple as they first appeared to be.

While it was Chic (Hart Denton) who was running around town doing most of the dirty work, such as getting the Griffins & Gargoyles game into the hands of the town’s youth in the first place, it was Penelope Blossom (Nathalie Boltt) who was really pulling the strings.

“Penelope’s a master manipulator,” says showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa. “She suffered two core wounds in her life: One was she was basically bought by the Blossom family to marry Clifford, and then she lost her son Jason. When we were talking about who would want to take such an epic revenge on our families,

‘Riverdale’ Boss on Finale’s Gargoyle King Reveal, Future ‘Katy Keene’ Crossovers and Luke Perry
(Warning: This post contains spoilers for Wednesday’s Season 3 finale of “Riverdale”)

Riverdale” ended its third season tonight with a grand finale that not only revealed the (confusing) identity of the Gargoyle King, but tied together many plot points going back to the series premiere of The CW’s dark take on the Archie Comics.

Because the episode, titled “Survive the Night,” got a little complicated, here and there — and because the town of Riverdale is more than a little complicated, here and there — TheWrap broke things down with showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, who told us the meaning behind the closing moments’ bloody flash-forward, his ideas for “Riverdale” crossovers with its upcoming spinoff series “Katy Keene,” and what it was like finishing off the season without the late Luke Perry and how he plans to write off Perry’s character Fred Andrews on Season 4.

And speaking of the fourth season, which

Holy Jingle Jangle! Cole Sprouse and Lili Reinhart's Met Gala Appearance Took My Breath Away

Holy Jingle Jangle! Cole Sprouse and Lili Reinhart's Met Gala Appearance Took My Breath Away
You can blame Cole Sprouse and Lili Reinhart's Met Gala appearance for my happy tears. The couple stepped out on the pink carpet looking like actual works of art. While Cole donned a sleeveless suit covered in flower patches, Lili looked like a modern-day Marie Antoinette with pink makeup and a flowing blue cape.

The event certainly holds special significance for the Riverdale costars: it's where they made their red carpet debut as a couple. Though the two are usually pretty private about their romance, they put their love on full display as they attended last year's gala together. Not much has changed since!

Camila Mendes and Charles Melton Look Like a Disney Couple Brought to Life at the Met Gala
Camila Mendes made her Met Gala debut this year, and she didn't do it alone. The actress attended the star-studded event on May 6 with her boyfriend and Riverdale costar, Charles Melton. Fellow costars and couple Lili Reinhart and Cole Sprouse were also at the event after memorably taking their relationship public at the 2018 Met Gala.

In an interview with Popsugar ahead of the Met Gala, Camila expressed her excitement about her Met Gala debut. On the exaggerated camp theme inspired by Susan Sontag's 1964 essay "Notes on 'Camp,'" Camila said, "It's just a perfect year for me to come into this because our show is camp. It's a perfect first Met for me." See photos of the couple's glamorous red carpet appearance ahead.

The Final Riverdale Episode Luke Perry Filmed Is Airing This Week
The forthcoming episode of Riverdale will be an emotional one - not because of a particular storyline, but because it is the last one Luke Perry filmed before his death at 52. The last appearance of Perry's Fred Andrews - apart from flashbacks, perhaps - will take place in the season three episode airing on April 24, titled "Chapter Fifty-Four: Fear the Reaper."

Series creator and executive producer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa shared the news on social media ahead of the episode. "As always, Fred's imparting words of wisdom to Archie. A beautiful, true moment between a father and his son," he wrote alongside a still from the episode. "Wish these scenes could go on forever."

Following the actor's death from a stroke on March 4, Aguirre-Sacasa announced that all future episodes would be dedicated to Perry. Tributes from the Riverdale cast and crew also poured in after his unexpected death. Speaking to what it

Bo Report: Unhappy Easter for cinemas as the ‘Curse’ strikes

‘The Curse of the Weeping Woman’

New Line/DC Entertainment’s family superhero adventure Shazam! easily retained the top spot in its third weekend virtually by default.

One reason for the dreary Easter weekend trading: Distributors were unwilling to launch films for fear of being crushed by the Disney/Marvel juggernaut Avengers: End Game, which opens on Wednesday.

But an underlying factor is the generally lousy performance of Hollywood films this year. In the Us pundits described the Easter business as the worst since 2003. The Us box office for the year to date stands at $2.9 billion, down 16 per cent on 2018.

The only new wide release was the James Wan-produced horror pic The Curse of the Weeping Woman (aka The Curse of La Llorona), which opened at No. 1 in the Us but was a distant fifth here.

Bollywood romantic drama Kalank and Korean thriller Burning fared best among the specialty
