‘Black Panther’ Oscar-Nominated Best Song ‘All The Stars’ Won’t Be Performed During Ceremony: Here’s Why

  • Deadline
The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has confirmed that Black Panther‘s Best Song Oscar nominee “All the Stars” from Kendrick Lamar, Sounwave, Anthony Triffith and Sza will not be performed at Sunday’s ceremony.

Note this absolutely has nothing to do with the running time of the telecast. Since the nominations were announced, there had been ongoing discussions between Lamar’s camp and the Oscar creatives to try and make this performance possible. Lamar, from what we’ve heard from sources outside AMPAS, has been abroad and the closing four-week schedule post-noms was a challenge to turn around a stage performance that would do justice to “All the Stars.”

Lamar, who has performed at three of the past four Grammys, reportedly also was unable to perform at this month’s show due to work abroad. “All the Stars” was Grammy-nominated for Record of the Year, Song of the Year,

Tarantino's Once Upon a Time in Hollywood Gets Its Charlie Manson
Quentin Tarantino has found his Charles Manson. The filmmaker is currently in production on his latest movie, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, which will be his ninth overall as a director. The casting process has been ongoing during the course of production, as Tarantino is assembling a massive ensemble for his latest. Thanks to a new report, we have word that he's cast Damon Herriman as the infamous Charles Manson. The Australian actor is best known for his role on FX's Justified.

We've known since long before this movie even had a title, when it was simply being shopped around to various studios as "9," that Charles Manson was going to be in it. Initially, it seemed like this movie was going to sort of be about Manson, a cult leader who put together a "family" that committed a series of brutal murders during the year in which

Director Quentin Tarantino continues to build his cast for Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. According to The Wrap, Rumer Willis will play British actress Joanna Pettet; "Walker plays actress and singer Connie Stevens and Ronin (The Americans) portrays Polish actor Voytek Frykowski, who was one of the victims of the Manson Family’s murder spree at Roman Polanski’s home on Cielo Drive." Qualley will take

The characters live next door to Sharon Tate and Roman Polanski, played by Margot Robbie and Rafal Zawierucha. Quentin Tarantino Has Found His Charles Manson For Once Upon A Time In Hollywood

Earlier today, Quentin Tarantino found his Roman Polanski in Rafal Zawierucha and now, the two-time Academy Award winner has finally filled the role we’ve all been waiting for: Charles Manson. According to Cinema Blend (H/T The Wrap), Damon Herriman, star of Justified and Incorporated, has landed the part of the infamous serial killer in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.

Currently, the extent of Herriman’s role is unknown, but, seeing as a majority of his work has taken place on the small screen, this will undoubtedly be the most significant production of which he’s ever been apart. Joining Herriman on the non-fiction side of Once Upon a Time in Hollywood is Rumer Willis (Joanna Pettet), Dreama Walker (Connie Stevens) and Costa Ronin (Voytek Frykowski). Margaret Qualley (The Nice Guys), Madisen Beaty (The Fosters) and Victoria Pedretti have also come aboard.

John McCain, who went from Vietnam War hero to become “the Maverick of the Senate,” died Saturday of brain cancer at his home in Phoenix at his home in Arizona. He was 81. He family had announced August 24 that he was discontinuing treatment for his aggresive glioblastoma.

The son and grandson of Navy admirals who have a warship named for them, McCain represented Arizona in the Senate more than 30 years. He was a decorated naval aviator who was shot down over North Vietnam in 1967 and spent 5½ years in captivity. He was offered an early release but refused, citing the military’s moral code. His father, John McCain Jr., was commander-in-chief of the Pacific Command during most of his imprisonment. Official Trailer for 'By the Rivers of Babylon' Featuring Crispin Glover

"You didn't tell me she's funny." RadioactiveGiant has debuted an official trailer for an indie film titled By the Rivers of Babylon, previously known as Caretaker, the feature directorial debut of filmmaker Albert Sandoval. The description for this is a bit vague but sets up the plot of this psychological thriller: dementia and deceit haunt a widow as her estranged son and the new caretaker share her home. The dark drama stars Crispin Glover, Connie Stevens, Mark Boone Junior, Sam Quartin, Joely Fisher, Adam Tomei, and Dakota Buchanan. This looks unsettling, quite a few creepy things going on. Glover looks gnarly with that big burly mustache, but his accent is a bit hokey. Not sure what else I can say about this. Watch below. Here's the official trailer (+ poster) for Albert Sandoval's By the Rivers of Babylon, from YouTube: Dementia and deceit haunt a widow as her estranged son

The Fabulous Allan Carr

Starting out in the entertainment industry as a talent booker for Hugh Hefner’s television show, Carr soon became a talent manager representing the likes of Ann-Margaret, Peter Sellers, Tony Curtis and Mama Cass Elliot. Following Carr’s legendary New York subway station premiere party for ‘Tommy’, he gained a reputation for being able to launch a movie with a splash.
