Mini Bio (2)

Marsha Thomason was born and raised in Manchester, England. Her love for acting began after watching the musical "Bugsy Malone". Soon after, aged 12, she joined Oldham Theatre Workshop, where she performed many diverse stage plays, including "Our Day Out" by Willy Russell and "Peace" by Aristophanes. What began as a hobby soon helped her achieve her first professional acting job at the age of 14, when she starred in 8:15 from Manchester (1990) (BBC 1). Marsha took "A" levels in English Language, Media Studies and Theatre Studies before studying for her BA in English at Manchester Metropolitan University. While at university, Marsha won the role of Janice Lafferty in Prime Suspect 5: Errors of Judgement (1996) alongside Helen Mirren, and later the same year she appeared in Brazen Hussies (1996) with Julie Walters and Robert Lindsay. Many parts followed, including Sally in the BBC's popular series Pie in the Sky (1994).

Aged 20, Marsha moved to London's Notting Hill to take the role of Shazza Pearce in Playing the Field (1998), in which she played a beer-swilling, drug-taking soccer player. This was a role close to her heart as a life-long Manchester City supporter. After the first season of the show Marsha also starred as Nurse Jacqui Richards in Where the Heart Is (1997). She appeared in both programs simultaneously for three years. At this point she was spotted by Red Productions and appeared in Love in the 21st Century (1999), a series of six adult morality tales.

Marsha fulfilled a lifelong dream of starring in London's West End when she made her professional stage debut in "Breath Boom" at the Royal Court Theatre. The play was also the debut of Marsha's American accent, as her character was a 15-year-old prostitute from New York whose dream of acceptance was to belong to a girl gang.

Marsha's first foray into feature film was the Working Title production Long Time Dead (2002), a British horror film also starring Lukas Haas and Alec Newman. Her career then took her to America where she has continued to work in films, with roles as diverse as Victoria in Black Knight (2001) starring Martin Lawrence, and Brandy in Miramax's My Baby's Daddy (2004). She returned to England for the independent feature Pure (2002), directed by Gillies MacKinnon. Considered her most ambitious role to date, Marsha played Vicki, a Cockney heroin-addicted prostitute. While still in England, Marsha returned to Red Productions for the first series of the critically acclaimed Burn It (2003).

In 2002 Marsha was awarded Best Actress in Film at the BFM awards. She recently appeared in the Disney feature The Haunted Mansion (2003) in which she starred opposite Eddie Murphy.

Marsha Thomason, is a British actress, who is known for her roles on Las Vegas, Lost and White Collar and such movies as The Haunted Mansion and Black Knight.

Thomason was born in Manchester, the daughter of Phyllis, a Jamaican electronics company employee and Peter Thomason, who works in the public sector. She attended Holy Trinity Primary School in Blackley, and North Manchester High School for Girls, before attending Oldham Sixth Form College to study for A levels in Media Studies, Theatre Studies and English. Thomason attended the Manchester Metropolitan University, reading a Bachelor of Arts degree in English.

Thomason first came to prominence on British television in the series' Playing The Field and Where The Heart Is, as well as the BBC Three drama Burn It.

In the U.S., she appeared in Disney's The Haunted Mansion, playing Eddie Murphy's wife. She played Brandy in the movie My baby's Daddy, and played Victoria in Black Knight. She also played Vicki in Pure. She starred in the US television series Las Vegas as Nessa Holt.

Thomason was a recurring character on the television show Lost as Naomi Dorrit. Being a friend of Dominic Monaghan (who played Charlie Pace on the series), she was a huge fan of the show and excited to be cast.

She also found the lack of character transparency to be refreshing: "That's kind of difficult as an actor, but also freeing in a way, because you just have to play the scenes as they're written. And then if you find out if you're a big villain or whatever, then you play that... You know when that worked really brilliantly? On 24 with Nina Myers. She didn't have a clue - Sarah Clarke, the actress - and that made it really brilliant, because she played Nina honestly. Really honestly. And then she was a villain. Genius. That was such a great one."

In January 2008 she appeared in Messiah V: The Rapture, alongside Marc Warren. In August 2008 Thomason was cast as a series regular in the CW show Easy Money.

She first appeared in the third season episode "Catch-22," which aired on 18 April 2007, and continued to appear until the season finale "Through the Looking Glass". In this story, the character was knifed in the back and succumbed to her injuries. She next appeared in the "The Beginning of the End" and in the season 5, episode 13, "Some Like it Hoth".

In 2009, Marsha played sports agent MJ Martin on, ABC Family's Make It Or Break It. She also joined the cast General Hospital for a short arc opposite James Franco that same year.

After appearing in the pilot episode for White Collar as agent Diana Berrigan, she returned for the first season finale in December 2009. Beginning with the second season, and up to and including the fifth season, Marsha has appeared on the series full time as a series regular.

On 5 April 2009 Thomason married Craig Sykes, a lighting technician, reportedly in Topanga Canyon, California, but there was also a private ceremony in Malibu, California. The personal ceremony was conducted by Mary Jean Valente of A Ceremony of the Heart.
