Once Upon a Time's 100th Episode: Come for the Trip to the Underworld, Stay for the Lana Parrilla Showcase

Once Upon a Time's 100th Episode: Come for the Trip to the Underworld, Stay for the Lana Parrilla Showcase
The big takeaway from the Once Upon a Time 100th episode? Not the trip to the Underworld we've all been anticipating. Sure, it's a monumentally important development in the series that's setting up one heck of an exciting second half of the season, but the main thing that will have Twitter buzzing once the episode ends is the tour de force performance from Lana Parrilla. Not only does Parrilla get the opportunity to chew the scenery like none other as everyone's favorite Evil Queen in the episode's flashbacks, but her reformed Regina has a reunion with her dastardly mother Cora (Barbara Hershey) and father Henry (Tony Perez) in the Underworld that the actress herself described to E! News as "five years...

Once Upon a Time: Season Two Ratings

Last year, Once Upon a Time got off to a positive start in the ratings but then kept falling each week. It looked like the show would be in danger of being cancelled but the numbers picked up a bit and stopped falling. Will the ratings hold steady this season, rise or sink? It's not magic but we will have to be patient.

The second season of Once Upon a Time typically airs Sunday nights on ABC. The large cast includes Jennifer Morrison, Ginnifer Goodwin, Josh Dallas, Robert Carlyle, Lana Parrilla, Jared Gilmore, Raphael Sbarge, Meghan Ory, Emilie de Ravin, Giancarlo Esposito, Eion Bailey, Anastasia Griffith, Jamie Dornan, Sebastian Stan, Barbara Hershey, Lee Arenberg, David Anders, Jesse Schram, and Tony Perez.

TV Reviews: “Once Upon A Time” Season 1, Episode 18 “The Stable Boy”

Rule #1: Try not to be a kid of theirs.

Once Upon A Time Season 1, Episode 18 “The Stable Boy” Air Date: 4/1/12

This week’s episode opens with a mini flashback (“One Week Ago”), where Mr. Gold offers his services to help frame Mary Margaret for Kathryn’s disappearance in exchange for help from Regina in the future (like the sort that got him out of prison for assaulting someone). This deal had been mentioned and made obvious in previous episodes, and I’m not entirely what new information we learned other than that Mr. Gold approached Regina rather than the other way around, and that Regina could’ve used Mr. Gold’s plan without making the deal, since he spelled it out for her (yes, his lawyerly assistance came in handy, but it’s still hardly a juicy “deal”). Anyways, Regina spends most of the episode taunting Mary Margaret and

Mommy Evil in Once Upon a Time Episode: The Stable Boy Promo Pics

  • Boomtron
When Once Upon a Time airs it’s April 1st episode, the ABC fairytale drama will take us on a journey into the earlier years of the Evil Queen, her equally evil mother Cora, and the stable boy that comes between them. We’ve had several episodes that focused on Eq, slowly showing us just how evil she can be, but this will be the episode that rises to the task of explaining just what happened to turn someone down such a dark path. As co-creator Edward Kitsis once said, “Evil is not born, it’s made.”

Down below are the promotion images for the episode, “The Stable Boy,” and I think you will find them to be quite… boring. There are only four characters appearing in said photos: Cora (Barbara Hershey), the unnamed stable boy (Noah Bean), the future Evil Queen (Lana Parilla), and who I at first assumed was Eq’s father,

4192: The Crowning of the Hit King | Balls Out

  • Pajiba
This documentary is screening as part of the All Sports La Film Festival and will be screening this Saturday. Information can be found on the website. In the interest of full disclosure, I was afforded press passes to attend this screening.

These days, Pete Rose looks like a Reno televangelist. Decked out in a striped dress shirt with "Hit King" embroidered on the collar (a design which he owns in several different color variations), unnaturally darkened hair, spangled boots, and a flashy gold watch, Rose and that famous gap-toothed grin weeps at adulation and preaches the gospel of baseball with fiery bluntness. He is not here to preach a loving and embracing sport but that of damnation and hellfire. Like a scarred and weathered Fred Flinstone, Rose is doing everything he can in his waning days, beseeching all who will listen to accept him into the hallowed gates of the Baseball Hall of Fame.
