Katherine Waterston & Michael Shannon in Trailer for 'State Like Sleep'

"Funny - peel back a layer, and no one's where the seem to be..." The Orchard has debuted an official trailer for an indie psychological thriller film titled State Like Sleep, which first premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival earlier this year. The dark, moody, mysterious drama is about a woman named Katherine, played by the very talented Katherine Waterston, who is still struggling to grapple with her husband's surprising death a year before. After a phone call, she goes out to try and figure out what really happened to him. The full cast includes Michael Shannon, Luke Evans, Mary Kay Place, Mark O'Brien, Rachel Wilson, and Bo Martyn. There's a lot of weird, fascinating, peculiar footage in this trailer - hard to make sense of it, but it's certainly appealing. I'm surprised we haven't heard much about this film before today. Have a look. Here's the first official trailer

Viff 2018: Alternate Universes Wreak Havoc in Mediocre Parallel [Review]

A group of enterprising app developers are doing their best to get a new parking app off the ground but when their pitch meeting ends with a request for delivery the team simply can't meet, it looks like their dreams of being the next big thing are dashed.

After a night of drinking that leads to a brawl in the laundry room of their shared work/living space, the group finds a hidden set of stairs to an attic they never knew existed and from there, a mirror that turns out to be the gateway to parallel universes.

And so Parallel follows the group, led by Noel (Martin Wallstrom of "Mr. Robot" fame), as they develop a plan to finish the app in time for delivery and once delivered, the group, which includes Josh (Mark O'Brien), Leena (Georgia King) and Devin (Aml Ameen), set of

New Trailer For the Super-Powered Teen Thriller The Darkest Minds

20th Century Fox has released a new trailer for their interesting looking film The Darkest Minds, which centers around a world where 98% of America's children are killed off from a disease that sweeps the nation. The surviving 2% end up developing superpowers and they are placed in internment camps.

The film comes from the producers of Stranger Things and Arrival and it was directed by Jennifer Yuh Nelson, who previously brought us Kung Fu Panda 2 and 3

The story follows a 16-year-old girl who escapes from her camp and joins a group of other teens on the run from the government. As you'll see the story was heavily inspired by the X-Men comics. It tries to put its own spin on it, though and I like what I'm seeing in the trailer.

The film is based on a Ya survival thriller novel by Alexandra Bracken and it stars Amandla Stenberg (The Hunger Games), Mandy Moore,

Another New Trailer for Fox's 'The Darkest Minds' Superpowers Movie

"What happens next?" 20th Century Fox has debuted another new trailer for their superpowers movie The Darkest Minds, in theaters in August. Finally they're putting out footage that really makes this look good, instead of looking like just another Ya movie for teens. The best trailer yet for this movie - worth a watch. The Darkest Minds is set just after a disease kills 98% of America's children, and the surviving 2% develop superpowers and are then placed in camps. A 16-year-old girl escapes and joins a group of other teens on the run. This stars Amandla Stenberg, Mandy Moore, Harris Dickinson, Wallace Langham, Golden Brooks, Mark O'Brien, Patrick Gibson, and Gwendoline Christie. I'm very curious now, even if this does seem a bit too much like X-Men meets The Girl with All the Gifts. But now you have my attention, Fox. Here's the latest trailer (+ UK poster) for Jennifer Yuh Nelson's The Darkest Minds,

One Final Trailer for End of the World Movie 'How It Ends' on Netflix

"Now matter what happens we're going to make it! Okay?" Netflix has launched one final trailer for an intense end of the world movie titled How It Ends, the latest from filmmaker David M. Rosenthal. How It Ends is a post-apocalyptic survival thriller, where they're not sure what exactly is happening and/or what exactly the apocalypse is. The plot involves a desperate father trying to return home to his pregnant wife after a mysterious event turns everything to chaos. Theo James stars, along with Forest Whitaker, Kat Graham, Kerry Bishé, Mark O'Brien, Nicole Ari Parker, and Grace Dove. This is available on Netflix today, so they're giving it one big push in hopes some of you want to watch this. Or maybe no one wants to escape to an apocalyptic story when it's already so bad. Enjoy. Here's the second & final trailer for David M. Rosenthal's How It Ends,

How It Ends Trailer Has Theo James and Forest Whitaker Fighting the Apocalypse

A mysterious apocalypse causes the spread of misinformation and violence in the new trailer for Netflix's How It Ends. Forest Whitaker stars alongside Theo James in the intense trailer, which teases that there's something else going on under the surface. Extreme natural disasters are occurring as Whitaker's Tom and James' Will race across the country to save Will's pregnant wife, who is also the daughter of Tom. The blockbuster for the small screen is intense and looks like it would fit in with any other of the popcorn movies currently in theaters.

Forest Whitaker is in full on action mode for How It Ends as a hard ass father-in-law, who knows his way around firearms and insane automobile stunts. The tough guy approach comes off well in the recently released trailer, while Divergent series star Theo James' Will character comes off as a bit timid at the start. By the end of the trailer,

Theo James in Trailer for Apocalyptic Film 'How It Ends' from Netflix

"There's a lot to be afraid of out there..." Netflix has debuted an official trailer for an indie film titled How It Ends, the latest from filmmaker David M. Rosenthal. How It Ends is a post-apocalyptic survival thriller, one of those where they don't really explain the apocalypse or what happened. The plot involves a desperate father trying to return home to his pregnant wife after a mysterious apocalyptic event turns everything to chaos. Theo James stars, along with Forest Whitaker, Kat Graham, Kerry Bishé, Mark O'Brien, Nicole Ari Parker, and Grace Dove. This pretty much came out of nowhere, so I'm not sure what to make of it. It seems like there's some cool things going on here, but I really don't have a good feeling. It's worth a look just to check out another Netflix film. Here's the first official trailer (+ poster) for David M. Rosenthal's How It

Are You One of Us? - New Promo Trailer for Fox's 'The Darkest Minds'

"Are you one of us?" Fox has debuted an interesting promo trailer for their upcoming superpowers movie The Darkest Minds, hitting theaters in August this summer. This first trailer for this arrived in March, teasing an impressive film about kids with superpowers (who aren't X-Men). This new trailer is more of a promo asking those who are "one of us" to join them. The Darkest Minds is set in a time when a disease kills 98% of America's children, and the surviving 2% develop superpowers and are then placed in camps. This is a bit weird, especially since no one has any superpowers. Or do they..? Here's the new promo trailer for Jennifer Yuh Nelson's The Darkest Minds,

One More Time: Netflix's Us Trailer for Augmented Reality Film 'Anon'

"Who can hack a human being?" One more trailer for the indie sci-fi film Anon, written and directed by sci-fi storyteller Andrew Niccol. We posted another trailer earlier this year, and a new international trailer this week already. This new Us trailer from Netflix presents the story entirely differently - about hackers and hacking our augmented reality, and how one of them is getting away with murders by erasing memories. Clive Owen plays a cop investigating a series of unsolved murders, who meets a mysterious hacker woman known as "The Girl" - Amanda Seyfried. This also stars Colm Feore, Sonya Walger, Mark O'Brien, Joe Pingue, Iddo Goldberg, and Sebastian Pigott. This actually looks good, I'm planning to watch once it's available - starting in early May on Netflix. Here's the official Us trailer (+ new Us poster) for Andrew Niccol's Anon, direct from Netflix's YouTube: You can still watch the

New International Trailer for Andrew Niccol's 'Anon' with Clive Owen

"We can't control what we can't see." Another new international trailer has debuted for the indie sci-fi film Anon, written and directed by sci-fi storyteller Andrew Niccol. We posted another trailer earlier this year, and it still looks very intriguing. The film is about a near-future where there is no privacy or anonymity, where even private memories are recorded in an effort to cut down on crime. Clive Owen plays a cop investigating a series of unsolved murders, who meets a hacker woman known as "The Girl", played by Amanda Seyfried. She has no identity, no history and no record. Also starring Colm Feore, Sonya Walger, Mark O'Brien, Joe Pingue, Iddo Goldberg, and Sebastian Pigott. I'm usually interested in whatever Niccol makes, especially if it's full-on sci-fi, and I'm fascinated by this. That digitized filmmaking style with augmented reality Pov is crazy cool. Check this out. Here's a second international

The surviving 2% end up developing superpowers and they are placed in internment camps. First Impressive Trailer for Superpowers Thriller 'The Darkest Minds'

"The more that I try to control it, the more damage that I do..." 20th Century Fox has unveiled the first trailer for a superpowers movie titled The Darkest Minds, the live-action debut of Kung Fu Panda 2 & 3 director Jennifer Yuh Nelson. "From the producers of 'Stranger Things' and Arrival comes the latest Ya survival thriller," based on the novel by Alexandra Bracken. Here's what this series is about: after a disease kills 98% of America's children, the surviving 2% develop superpowers and are placed in internment camps. A 16-year-old girl escapes her camp and joins a group of other teens on the run from the government. This stars Amandla Stenberg (from The Hunger Games + Everything, Everything), Mandy Moore, Harris Dickinson, Wallace Langham, Golden Brooks, Mark O'Brien, Patrick Gibson, and Gwendoline Christie. This looks very Ya, but it looks cool, dare I say. A mix of Chronicle and The Girl with All the Gifts.

Anon Trailer: Andrew Niccol Creates a World Without Privacy in Latest Thriller

The first trailer for Andrew Niccol's tech thriller Anon has dropped and, as always with Niccol, he's got me intrigued. While his films (Gattaca, Lord of War) don't always turn out to be winners, he continues to explore intriguing sci-fi ideas (ahem, In Time). Anon is set in a Soviet-style near-future where the government is trying to fight crime by eliminating privacy, thus creating total surveillance and de facto self-censorship. A police officer named Sal Frieland (Clive Owen) is doing his best to fight crime in his city but things take a huge turn when he meets a hacker known as "The Girl" (Amanda Seyfried). Anon was also written by Niccol and co-stars Colm Feore, Sonya Walger, Mark O'Brien, Joe Pingue, Iddo Goldberg, and Sebastian...

First Full Trailer for Andrew Niccol's Sci-Fi Technology Thriller 'Anon'

"Anonymity is the enemy." A trailer has launched from Greece for the new sci-fi film Anon, the latest from one of my favorite sci-fi filmmakers - Andrew Niccol, who last made The Host and Good Kill. What he learns from her changes everything. Also starring Colm Feore, Sonya Walger, Mark O'Brien, Joe Pingue, Iddo Goldberg, and Sebastian Pigott. Why does Seyfried look so like anyone but herself? This seems to be a slick sci-fi neo-noir. I'm always curious about Niccol's films, will be watching it. Here's the first international trailer for Andrew Niccol's Anon,

City on a Hill Release Date, Cast, News, and More

David Crow Tony Sokol Jan 31, 2019

Showtime will bring a Boston miracle to the screens when City on a Hill takes on crime and corruption starting in 2019.

Boston is one of the oldest cities in the U.S. and, like most cities, it is something less than a puritanical ideal. It birthed the idea of a revolution when locals had a tea party and passed the bill on to Great Britain to pay and practically got a patent on dockwork kickbacks after the embargo of 1807. In the past few years, the city has become almost synonymous with crime drama.

Dennis Lehane made a near cottage industry out of tough tales about tough guys in Dorchester or Southie, such as Gone Baby Gone and Mystic River. Martin Scorsese’s The Departed showed how engrained someone like Whitey Bulger could get, and Ben Affleck’s The Town, pulled a heist in the middle of Fenway Park.

First Look at Hugh Jackman in The Front Runner

  • MovieWeb
Hugh Jackman unveiled a first look at himself as 1980s Presidential candidate Gary Hart in the new biopic The Front Runner, which started production today. While the actor will be surrounded by an all-star supporting cast, we only get to see our leading man, which appears to be taken during one of Gary Hart's events during his Presidential campaign, before things went completely off the rails in 1987, helping spark a new era in political journalism.

This first look photo was revealed on the official Hugh Jackman Twitter. The film is based on the book All the Truth Is Out: The Week Politics Went Tabloid by Matt Bai, who also had a hand in adapting the screenplay alongside director Jason Reitman (Up in the Air) and Jay Carson (House of Cards). In 1987, U.S. Senator Gary Hart was easily considered the front runner for the Democratic Presidential nomination for the 1988 Presidential election,
