10 Horror Movies on Netflix to Make Your Halloween Extra Horrific

Can you feel the weather changing? Fall is just around the corner and you know what that means, right? It's time to devour a lot of Halloween movies, and with that comes the related lists, op-eds, and everything else you love to read. Sure, we could write about Thanksgiving, but let's be real here, Thanksgiving isn't nearly as much fun as Halloween.

It seemed kinda fun to kick off my first list for everybody's spookiest holiday by focusing my sights on Netflix. That streaming platform has changed the game in so many ways and seems to be, at all times, a nice haven for interesting, unique, and really bad horror movies. What better way to make Halloween night that much more personal than to settle in with the the streaming service that just keeps giving.

The 10 films on this aforementioned list are a nice hodge-podge of new classics, well worn campy tales,

'Sons Of Anarchy' Recap: Jax Defies August Marks; Chibs Rejects Juice's Plea To Return To Samcro

Sons of Anarchy kicked off Tuesday night towards the end of Lyla shooting a scene for Redwoody’s first adult film DVD, which proves tame by comparison to the bloodletting to come.

Sons of Anarchy Recap

Chibs (Tommy Flanagan) and Tig (Kim Coates) are nearly besides themselves, while Jax (Charlie Hunnam) appreciatively calls Lyla, who was working behind the camera, a “genius.” Interrupting the celebration is August Marks (Billy Brown), who has pulled up to the lot outside. Marks has heard about the Chinese shipment getting hit and he’s more or less convinced that Samcro is behind it. He’s not buying that the two muscle men ran the operation, as he knows that the Chinese lost 4 kilos of heroin, not two. Threatening Jax, he says he’ll have no problem killing him or any of the other Sons.

Instead of meeting with Tully (Marilyn Manson) as planned, Jax

‘The Conjuring’ Blu-ray Review

Stars: Patrick Wilson, Vera Farmiga, Ron Livingston, Lili Taylor, Shanley Caswell, Hayley McFarland, Joey King, Mackenzie Foy, Kyla Deaver, Sterling Jerins | Written by Chad Hayes, Carey Hayes | Directed by James Wan

Can horror movies be scary anymore? This is an interesting question because for the most part horror fans don’t watch horror expecting to be scared because they’ve seen it all before. When a little bit of magic happens and that twinge of fear does spark then that tends to make us enjoy the film even more. This is a rarity, especially in “Hollywood horror” but The Conjuring actually manages to get a few good scares.

The Conjuring is based on the true story of the Perron family who moved into an old Rhode Island farm house. Not long after moving in strange things start to happen when soon escalating to attacks on the family leading to the

The Conjuring Blu-ray Review

Director: James Wan

Starring: Vera Farmiga, Patrick Wilson, Lili Taylor, Ron Livingston, Shanley Caswell, Hayley McFarland, Joey King, Mackenzie Foy, Kyla Deaver, Shannon Kook, John Brotherton,

Running Time: 111 minutes

Certificate: 15

James Wan keeps it horror with yet another haunted house film, although many would argue Insidious was a haunted child movie. The Conjuring takes place in the 1960s, as well as taking influence from many genre pieces of the 1970s. Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga play real life demonologists/ghost hunters/kooks, Ed and Lorraine Warren, probably best known for their involvement with The Amityville Horror. They find themselves called to aid the Perron family, who are pestered by some kind of demonic spirit.

From the outset James Wan builds the atmosphere well. It’s tense, it’s unsettling, and it isn’t at all rushed. The dark colour palette and period setting work in conjunction with the brilliant cinematography.

Is New Line Prepping 3 The Conjuring Spin-offs?
On Friday, we reported that New Line Cinema is planning a spin-off of this summer's hit thriller The Conjuring, which centers on the evil Annabelle doll. Today, Bloody Disgusting has word that two more spin-offs are also being developed.

No details were given about the other two spin-offs, except that they will be approached as micro-budget projects.

The Conjuring's Haunted Annabelle Doll Gets a Spin-Off

With a sequel to this summer's hit thriller The Conjuring already in the works, New Line Cinema is also moving forward on a spin-off, centering on the haunted doll named Annabelle.

In the original thriller, directed by James Wan, Annabelle is just one of several possessed artifacts that paranormal investigators Ed (Patrick Wilson) and Lorraine Warren (Vera Farmiga) keep locked away in their basement. No story details were given regarding the spin-off, or whether it will be a prequel that charts this evil doll's origin.

‘Sons of Anarchy’ Unleashes the Quiet Storm in ‘John 8:32′

Sons of Anarchy Season 6 Episode 9

“John 8:32” may very well have been my favorite episode of Sons of Anarchy this season. There was something especially cathartic about seeing all of the family squabbles play out, without the needless distractions of wacky explosions, “shocking” deaths or Walter Goggins’ boob scenes.

It’s always great when the cast has a chance to breath and captivate us without running around ad nauseam to an up tempo chase song. I love action just as much as the next guy, but it’s those solemn songs and moments that really draw you in to this motorcycle-club drama.

Although the Jax vs. Clay beef has been played and strung along like turkey meat, I’m digging the new Jax vs. Tara drama. Throughout the past few seasons the Jax, Tara and Gemma love triangle has been had its share ups and downs. But that’s what

'Sons of Anarchy' postmortem: Kurt Sutter talks the truths of 'John 8:32'

'Sons of Anarchy' postmortem: Kurt Sutter talks the truths of 'John 8:32'
Spoiler alert! If you haven’t watched this week’s episode of Sons of Anarchy, “John 8:32,” stop now. (Read our full recap.) Creator Kurt Sutter talked with EW about the big reveals and crazy twists — and teased what’s next.

Entertainment Weekly: I loved the final shot of Tara holding Thomas and singing to him, and when the camera panned down, we saw she had a gun on her lap. Is she that afraid of Jax now that he knows she faked the pregnancy and the miscarriage she’d blamed on Gemma and was plotting to leave him and take his kids?

'Sons of Anarchy' - 'John 8:32' recap: Jax knows Tara lied, the homeless woman returns

Well, the secret is out. At the end of the latest "Sons of Anarchy" episode, "John 8:32," Jax (Charlie Hunnam) was forced to realize just what Tara (Maggie Siff) has done to secure the future of her kids, away from the club. He takes the news that the pregnancy and miscarriage were fake about as well as you'd expect.

Gemma (Katey Sagal) tries to tell him, and so does Nero (Jimmy Smits), but it's hard to hear the words from people so deeply involved in the situation. It even got to the point of Jax and Nero throwing punches. Nero simply tried to talk some sense to Tara, but she relayed a different, far more horrible version, of the events to Jax, who felt compelled to act. The truth also came out about Gemma being forced to sleep with Clay (Ron Perlman) in front of prison guards, something that helped

'Sons of Anarchy' - 'John 8:32' preview: Will Jax discover the truth?

Big things are coming to "Sons of Anarchy," and as usual they're mostly pretty bad. Almost all of Season 6 has been hard on the club, and Jax (Charlie Hunnam) himself. He's lost his clubhouse, Samcro is seemingly falling apart while he tries to go legitimate, and now he's lost a child.

Of course, what he doesn't realize is that the child Tara (Maggie Siff) miscarried wasn't real at all. It was a hoax on her part, to wrench Gemma (Katey Sagal) out of her kids' lives. Gemma knows the truth about what happened though, and it was confirmed by Wendy (Drea de Matteo).

Now the question becomes what will it take for Jax to listen to his mother and realize she's telling the truth. Certainly the words of his junkie ex-wife won't do the trick, so Gemma has an uphill battle ahead of her to get Jax back on her side.

'Sons of Anarchy' - 'John 8:32' photos: Is Jax cooperating with Patterson? Who is Brooke?

"Sons of Anarchy" Season 6 is entering its home stretch with the ninth episode, "John 8:32," and it's time for some truths to be revealed. The episode's title corresponds with a Bible verse, reading, "Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free." However, the name could also be a reference to Jax's (Charlie Hunnam) father, John Teller.

The photos are heavily Jax-centric, which seems logical based on the episode's promo. What's known is that Jax has a sit down with D. A. Patterson (Cch Pounder), more than likely about her coming after the club for the school shooting.

One question the pictures bring to mind is who, exactly, is Brooke? The woman, played by Hayley McFarland, is reported to be in two episodes of the show, including the Season 6 finale. Seeing as she was given her own portrait, it stands to reason Brooke play an important

New on DVD/Blu-ray: 'The Conjuring' Will Scare You, but 'Before Midnight' Will Hit Your Soul

The Conjuring - Warner Bros. - Blu-ray Combo Pack, DVD Director: James Wan Cast: Vera FarmigaPatrick WilsonLili TaylorRon LivingstonHayley McFarland. Full cast + crew Regardless of how you feel about the real-life exploits of the Warren family, it's hard to deny that they inspire great horror movies. The Conjuring is a near-perfect blend of traditional horror techniques with modern production values, and it's easily James Wan's most accomplished film to date. In fact, it's so good it'll make you sad that Wan is turning his back on horror movies for the foreseeable future, as he really is one of Hollywood's best in that ballpark. The actual script is a bit familiar and becomes a tad convoluted once more and more...
