Film Review: ‘Cuck’

Film Review: ‘Cuck’
If this weekend you’re only seeing one depressing character study about an unemployable, fatherless, antisocial manchild who lives with his sickly mother, is often unattractively shirtless, and eventually decides society must pay violently for his general misery … then you are almost certainly going to “Joker.” As it happens, however, there is an alternative also fitting that description perfectly well. “Cuck” is, in fact, “Joker” with even less vestige of superheroics than Todd Phillips’ atypical comic-book movie, about precisely the sort of people some have feared will take “Joker” as an incitement to real-world violence: the usually white incel-type man who feels marginalized and somehow robbed of success, who in worst-case scenarios ends up shooting up a school, workplace or other public space to feel his rage isn’t entirely impotent.

It’s certainly worth having more than one film wade into this terrain, particularly since “Joker” allegedly goes out

Lou Ferrigno Is the 'Liberator'

Bad guys beware. There's a brand-new superhero in town. He's called the Liberator and he's played by Lou Ferrigno, a guy with more than a little experience in the realm of comic book heroes.

Liberator is the story of Ed Migliocetti (Ferrigno), an ex-pro football player who gave up his career to join the military. After being drafted into the "Enhanced Abilities Initiative," Ed was dubbed the Liberator and teamed with a group of fellow "supers" known as Sidewinder, Gaia and Volt. Though he soon found himself doing the government's dirty work — assassinations, regime changes, infrastructure sabotage — Ed followed orders. He was a good soldier.

But when a mission went bad, Ed was set up as the fall guy and sent to prison as a traitor. After a decade behind bars, Ed is released and determined to set the record straight. But his efforts aren't appreciated by those who threw him under the bus.

Not quite sweeping the ceremony, but still handily leading the pack among this year's Razzie choices is Razzie Repeat Offender M. Night Shyamalan's "re-imagining" of the faux-anime' TV series The Last Airbender into a jumbled, jump-cut mess of a movie that fans of the TV show hated even more than critics did (if that's even possible!). In addition to Worst Director and Worst Picture, The Last Airbender also "won" Worst Screenplay, a brand-new Razzie category for 2010, Worst Eye-Gouging Mis-Use of 3-D, and Worst Supporting Actor Jackson Rathbone (who

Review: The Last Airbender

This is the Pure Movies review of The Last Airbender (directed by M. Night Shyamalan and starring Jackson Rathbone, Dev Patel, Cliff Curtis Nicola Peltz Noah Ringer Jessica Andres, Seychelle Gabriel and Shaun Toub). Written by Pure Movies writer Suki Ferguson. There are films that are considered, by cult consensus, to be ‘so bad they’re good.’ Sadly, the same cannot be said of The Last Airbender. It is mind-bogglingly bad, and boring with it. Our hero is a young Bender (stop giggling back there!) named Aang who specializes in ‘bending’ air. Apparently he is the last one, and he must prove to the element-themed world he lives in that he is an Avatar, a being equipped to save the peaceful Water Nation from the evil Fire Nation. ‘Last Airbender’ Movie Delivered A Great Story With Awesome Scenes

'Last Airbender' movie delivered a great story with awesome scenes. Paramount Pictures new "Last Airbender" flick hit the theaters today. I just got through watching it,and I must say I totally disagree with the top movie critics this week. Most of them thought it was horrible, but this movie was freakin awesome. It delivered a lot of action, cool special effects with a great storyline. I was totally captivated by every element of this movie. It stars: Noah Ringer, Nicola Peltz, Jackson Rathbone, Dev Patel, Jessica Jade Andres, Aasif Mandvi, Shaun Toub, Cliff Curtis, and Keong Sim. "The Last Airbender" revolved around character Aang (Noah Rider) who is one of the last airbenders left, and the so-called avatar that can manipulate all elements fire, water, air, and earth. However,Aang hasn't yet developed any ability but airbending after forsaking his avatar duty.

Your Summer Movie Sucks: Does The Last Airbender Suck Air or Just Blow?

Does The Last Airbender Suck? Billy Appleton here! Standing at the equator. We're at the precipice. The halfway mark. It's been two months, and all we have to show for our summer movie going woes is one fairly entertaining cartoon about a bunch of dumpster-destined toys. It's summer week number nine, and it's time to tap that elusive suck-o-meter:

First up was Iron Man 2, which didn't quite suck, but it also wasn't the awesome movie-going experience everyone thought it would be. It was met with a meh-shoulder shrug and quickly discarded into the wastebasket of "So-What?" The only remnant that still lingers weeks later is an image of Black Window on our Diet Dr, Pepper cans. Babies had a bunch of hipper-than-thou Inter-critics pontificating its sullen, quiet-like weirdness. But for those of us not into eating toddler flesh in the midst of a heat wave, it sucked! Then came Robin Hood,
