Panda Bear: See French Bulldog on Dating Show in Surreal ‘Buoys’ Video

Panda Bear salutes the innate beauty and sweetness of animals with his quirky new video for “Buoys,” the title track from the Animal Collective member’s recent solo LP.

The clip stars Beatrice the French Bulldog (who appears as Stella from Modern Family) as she tries to find a forever home on a surreal dating-type show. Beatrice grills the two contestants with barked questions to discover their true personalities — and for good measure, she sniffs both their butts.

“Dogs see past how many followers we have and how many tickets we sell,

Antibirth (2016) Movie Review

Reviewed by Jonathan Weichsel,

MoreHorror.com

Antibirth is written and directed by Danny Perez. The film stars Natasha Lyonne, Chloe Sevigny, and Meg Tilly.

Antibirth is billed as a psychedelic horror film, which is what interested me in seeing it. While the film does have one striking psychedelic scene right in the middle, for the most part Antibirth is more drunk than high.

Antibirth is about a heavy-drinking, whip-it huffing, drugged-out woman, Lou, who mysteriously becomes pregnant, even though she doesn't remember having had sex in the last six months. Of course we know right away that the fact that she doesn't remember having had sex doesn't actually mean that she actually hasn't, but she doesn't seem to know this, and neither do the other characters. As her pregnancy progresses she shows unusual symptoms, but instead of taking any meaningful action she just mopes around.

The cast of Antibirth is all around excellent,

‘Antibirth’ Review

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gx1K4yZW5Ds

I…don’t know where to start here. It’s Antibirth! This movie is totally crazy! Let’s just summarize.

Lou (Natasha Lyonne) is a chainsmoking, hard partying — and I mean Hard — lady. The last thing you would expect or want to see for her is a pregnancy, but after a night of black out she soon discovers that’s maybe the case. Her denial is strong, but she keeps getting bigger and it’s the obvious answer. But then strange things begin happening to her body: bizarre dreams involving mascot characters, infected skin, rotting teeth, extremely blistered feet, and an absurdly distended belly that pulsates. Aided by her friend Sadie (Chloe Sevigny) and a mysterious woman named Lorna (Meg Tilly) who wants to help her, they set

Antibirth Review

Burnouts, pregnancy and aliens – Antibirth is a twisted concoction of “Wtf” puzzle-piecing drenched in prenatal paranoia. Filmmaker Danny Perez keeps us guessing through second-hand-haziness, as his stoner prophecy plays like a bad trip caught on film. The entire rabbit hole is built on munchie runs and bong hits, but as Perez’s characters stay sufficiently buzzed, a larger story turns into sci-fi weirdness supplied in tablet form. Drugs act as a foreshadowing mechanism in themselves, hinting at far-out conclusions that no rational mind would calmly predict – even with all the flashy lights, neon costumes and experimental narcotics.

All well and good, except for the fact that I was entirely too sober for whatever the hell Antibirth is laying down.

Natasha Lyonne stars as Lou, a strung-out party girl who wakes up with pains and aches after a particularly blurry night. As Lou attempts to recall what nastiness she got herself involved in,

Q&A with Antibirth Writer/Director Danny Perez

Both unflinchingly realistic and strangely surreal, the new film Antibirth boldly blazes a path into a genre all its own. With IFC Midnight releasing Antibirth in select theaters and on VOD this Friday, September 2nd, I had the opportunity to catch up with writer/director Danny Perez for our latest Q&A feature to discuss working with Natasha Lyonne and Mark Webber, mixing contrasting elements in settings and tone, and much more.

Thanks for taking the time to answer some questions for us, Danny, and congratulations on Antibirth. It’s definitely a film that will stick with me for a long time to come. Had this story been brewing within you for a while? How long did it take you to write the screenplay?

Danny Perez: Thanks for your support. The script had gone through about twenty drafts over about four years. I had been interested in various elements

Antibirth Looks Gross, Funny and Epically Weird [Trailer]

Here's a bit of wackiness to kick off your weekend: the batshit crazy trailer for Danny Perez's Antibirth.

The movie which debuted at Sundance and recently played at Fantasia, stars Natasha Lyonne (of "Orange is the New Black" fame) as Lou, a hard living party animal who wakes from a particularly great night of partying not feeling too good.

She soon discovers she's pregnant – by her account it's immaculate conception – and believes that the baby is making her crazy.

Along with Lyonne, the movie also stars the great Chloë Sevigny as Lous best friend and roommate Sadie and Meg Tilly.

To call this trailer weird is an understatement. It's downright bonkers. I can't tell if Lou is just high all the time and hallucinating or if she's actu [Continued ...]

Coming Distractions: Natasha Lyonne’s pregnancy is freaking her out in the Antibirth trailer

The general advice for pregnant women is to stay clear of cigarettes, recreational drugs, and copious amounts of alcohol. But it’s a little unclear if those guidelines still apply when one is giving birth to an immaculately conceived demon baby. That’s what first time feature director Danny Perez set out to investigate with Antibirth, his trippy pregnancy-themed horror movie that aims to make Rosemary’s Baby look like a walk in the park.

Orange Is The New Black’s Natasha Lyonne plays a grungy party girl who wakes up from a bad trip to discover she’s pregnant. She and her best friend (Chloë Sevigny) try to figure out what’s going on while body horror, “surreal shocks,” and black comedy unfold around them. The unsettling film made its debut as a midnight release at this year’s Sundance film festival, and it will be delivered into theaters
