Black Mirror’s Co-Creators on “pissing people off” for a fifth time

The journey of Charlie Brooker and Annabel Jones’ Orwell-inspired anthology series, from a Channel 4 Sunday night serial to the Netflix-owned global phenomenon it has become, has reached what might be its logical conclusion.

Stars of the new fifth season, released all in one go next month and comprised of three sixty-minute episodes, include Miley Cyrus, Anthony Mackie, Topher Grace and Fleabag’s own Andrew Scott. And if season four’s distinctly American flavour wasn’t indication enough, we wouldn’t be unreasonable to expect an even chirpier set of stories this time around. (But don’t fret: it’s still Black Mirror.)

This is a creative decision Brooker insists was motivated by a desire to keep the show fresh, rather than a sop to its American backers and increasingly global audience. “Sometimes we want to be the Texas Chainsaw Massacre, but sometimes we want to be Pixar”, he

‘Black Mirror’ Season 5 Trailer Unveils Episode Count & Premiere Date

Now, it seems that Netflix is returning to the original format. Check out the trailer for Black Mirror Season 5 below:

Black Mirror Season 5 Trailer

The show is known for pushing the limits of science fiction storytelling into something closer to science fact. More so than any season before it, this new trailer for season five of Charlie Brooker’s opus seems to be leaning into this idea heavily. The show is notorious for it’s dark and dreary nature. But this season seems to

‘Black Mirror’ Season 5 Episode Trailers: Miley Cyrus and Anthony Mackie Go Full Cyborg

Netflix has released individual trailers for each of the three new “Black Mirror” episodes, and the show has never looked more forward-thinking. This short season returns the British show to its original form of three episodes per season, the release strategy for its initial two seasons on Channel 4. Until now, both Netflix seasons have included six episodes. The cerebral sci-fi series set in a slightly augmented future returns this June, following its wildly successful choose your own adventure movie “Black Mirror: Bandersnatch,” released on Netflix in December of last year.

These new trailers offer a first look at episodes starring Miley Cyrus and Anthony Mackie, two very different actors both taking on what will surely become some of the most memorable roles of their careers. ‘Black Mirror’ Creators Tease Musical Episode, But Won’t Confirm It For Season 5
Black Mirror” creators Charlie Brooker and Annabel Jones have a busy summer coming up thanks to the Emmy campaign for the franchise’s interactive movie “Bandersnatch” and the June debut of the Netflix anthology series’ fifth season. Brooker and Jones recently joined Deadline for a conversation about “Bandersnatch” but couldn’t help but tease that a musical episode of the sci-fi series could be in the cards at a later date.

When the Deadline reporter Joe Utichi could not remember whether or not “Black Mirror” had already done a musical episode, Brooker responded, “No, but I’m delighted to know that you nearly think we might have done one. There’s room for everything. Sometimes that’s how we come up with ideas — we sort of go, ‘What would be the ‘Black Mirror’ version of a musical episode?’ And that prompts a conversation that sometimes ends up with something very different.

"Black Mirror" will return for its fifth season on June 5 and singer-actress Miley Cyrus will be seen starring in the anthology series.

The show's fifth season's return was announced by Netflix, reports variety.com.

They star Anthony Mackie, Cyrus, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Topher Grace, Damson Idris, Andrew Scott, Nicole Beharie, Pom Klementieff, Angourie Rice, Madison Davenport and Ludi Lin.

Once again, technology is front and centre driving the stories in these three pieces, both distracting and tempting the protagonists.

In addition to continuing to comment on the state of social media, this season promises to also dive deeper into the state of artificial intelligence, smart technology and virtual reality.

Notably, Cyrus appears to be taking part in a meta storyline, as she portrays a performer with with thousands of fans who

Anthony Mackie and Miley Cyrus are the new victims of scary tech in the ‘Black Mirror’ Season 5 trailer [Watch]

Better clear your schedule on June 5 because not only is the third season of “The Handmaid’s Tale” premiering, but Netflix announced Wednesday that Season 5 of “Black Mirror” will drop that day too.

Season 5 consists of three episodes and stars Anthony Mackie, Miley Cyrus, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Topher Grace, Damson Idris, Andrew Scott, Nicole Beharie, Pom Klementieff, Angourie Rice, Madison Davenport and Ludi Lin.

Netflix also dropped a trailer as well (watch above), whetting our appetites for all the different ways technology is destroying our lives. A bespectacled Mackie hiding something from Beharie, most likely those ladies he’s been swiping right on. There is a cute but creepy Alexa-like device of which someone warns, “It’s not a doll. That thing is poison.” Cyrus is in meta mode as a pop star whose purple hair looks strikingly similar to the plastic mop on top of that doll. Hmm.
