Avengers: Endgame director doesn’t mind if the film fails to catch Avatar

Anthony Russo, the co-director of Avengers: Endgame, says that he doesn’t mind if his film doesn’t surpass Avatar at the global box office.

Avengers: Endgame has been pulling in truly enormous numbers at the box office, breaking numerous records in the process.

Many McU fans had been hoping it would be able to catch Avatar as the all-time highest grossing movie at the global box office, but director Anthony Russo doesn’t mind if it falls short, the filmmaker telling MTV that this doesn’t change what a huge achievement the film has been:

“I mean, look, I know it sounds very sensational and all but I try not to focus on it because there’s no — even if we don’t pass Avatar, there’s no way I want to have a shred of regret about anything associated with this movie. So I refuse to kind of consider it,

Shuri's 10 Funniest Quotes In The McU

Shuri has emerged in the last couple of years as one of the McU’s most popular characters – she’s smart, a badass, and above all, very funny. Letitia Wright is brilliant at delivering the character’s one-liners in a hysterically deadpan style, and she’s been characterized as one of the fiercest and strongest female characters in the McU. Since she’s quickly become a fan favorite, we can expect a bright future for this character. Maybe she’ll get a solo movie, or take on the “Black Panther” mantle herself at some point.

Avengers: Endgame returning to cinemas with new post-credits scene and tribute

Update: More info has now come to light regarding Marvel’s plans, with Kevin Feige confirming that the new release isn’t an extended cut, but will feature a brand new post-credits scene, along with “a tribute, and a few surprises”. Original story follows…

It goes without saying that Avengers: Endgame has dominated the box office so far this summer, earning a whopping $2.743 billion worldwide. The only movie with a bigger box office total is James Cameron’s Avatar with $2.788 billion. It’s been questioned if Endgame would manage to beat Avatar before going out of theatres, but now it may just have that chance as the superhero blockbuster will be re-released with new additional footage for audiences.

Marvel Studios president and producer Kevin Feige confirmed this with ComicBook at the London premiere of Spider-Man: Far From Home. “We are doing that,” Feige said of additional footage for Endgame. “I

Avengers: Endgame star Anthony Mackie thought Dave Bautista killed Tom Holland on set

Anthony Mackie, one of the stars of Avengers: Endgame, thought that Dave Bautista accidentally killed Tom Holland on the film’s set.

Accidents happen when making movies, especially when there are dangerous stunts involved. Anthony Mackie, who plays Falcon in Endgame, thought he may have been witness to one of these truly shocking incidents while making the movie.

Speaking Celebrity Fan Fest, the actor revealed that he thought co-star Dave Bautista accidentally inflicted a fatal injury on Tom Holland: “There was one day we were shooting and Tom Holland was standing behind me. It was the day when Chris Evans says ‘Run’ and we all run out to battle so it’s all green screen and there’s, like, maybe 300 people on set. We had a break in between camera setups and Bautista comes out and he and Tom Holland are talking over my shoulder.

“All of a sudden he does this jump,

Jeremy Renner wasn’t told what happened to Hawkeye’s family when shooting Avengers: Endgame

Because of the way Avengers: Endgame and Avengers: Infinity War were shot, Jeremy Renner didn’t know what happened to Hawkeye’s family when they vanished.

We all know after seeing Infinity War that when people around the world vanished it was because of Thanos’ snap but as Endgame and Infinity War were shot in conjunction, Jeremy Renner wasn’t aware of what was happening.

The directors apparently decided to leave Renner in the dark when shooting the scene where Hawkeye’s family vanish, prompting an honest performance from the actor. Speaking at Celebrity Fan Fest in San Antonio, the actor said:

“When we did shoot that, we shot back and forth between movies. I remember shooting with my family, teaching my daughter how to shoot a bow and arrow and I turn around and they’re just gone. And I didn’t know what was happening, I really didn’t.

Black Widow scene in Avengers: Endgame had to be reshot says Jeremy Renner

Jeremy Renner, one of the stars of Avengers: Endgame, has revealed that the emotional Black Widow scene had to be reshot.

There are some truly heart-rending moments throughout Endgame and one of these was certainly the scene where Black Widow perishes to obtain the soul stone. But the scene didn’t always look like it does now.

According to Jeremy Renner when speaking at Celebrity Fan Fest, the scene just wasn’t working in its original form: “We shot that scene two times, in two different ways. We shot that scene maybe…three months ago?

“It felt just a little out of place. We were on the altar, if you will, and a big ship comes in. We get attacked by a bunch of people and we both race to jump off. Then it got reshot and we were just fighting each other to go over.”

Marvel Studios producer nearly vetoed Captain Marvel’s Avengers: Endgame look

Victoria Alonso, the Evp of production for Marvel Studios, almost vetoed Captain Marvel’s new look for Avengers: Endgame.

Carol Danvers didn’t take very long to make her debut in an Avengers movie after her first appearance, therefore not giving audiences too long to become acquainted with her and her look.

This was a concern of Marvel Studios Evp Victoria Alonso, who was worried that changing her look for Endgame by giving her a new shorter haircut might be confusing so soon after introducing the character. Speaking to IGN, she said:

“That haircut was a conversation. And I was against it for a while because I was afraid that people had just met her and had just realized who she was and then we were changing her hair. And I thought, is it too soon? But clearly, it wasn’t.”

Avengers: Endgame almost featured the McU’s first “f*ck”

While the Marvel Studios policy seems to be to stick firmly in the family arena, it seems that Avengers: Endgame came close to pushing the boundaries of PG-13 by dropping the McU’s first (unbleeped) use of the word “fuck”.

Speaking to Empire Online, screenwriters Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely discussed how they came up with Robert Downey Jr.’s final “I am Iron Man” line during filming, revealing that the scene went through many iterations on set, including one where Tony Stark drops the F-Bomb.

“I think there was ‘fuck you’ at one point. Didn’t he say ‘fuck off’? He may have said it… you do a lot of takes. Like can we really end all this on a complete swear? On a ‘kiss my ass Thanos’?”

While Tony telling Thanos to fuck off would surely have got a laugh from the audience (and probably infuriated a few

Avengers: Endgame directors explain why they needed to ban spoilers

Joe and Anthony Russo, the directors of Avengers: Endgame, have explained what made their spoiler ban necessary.

Spoilers are an ever constant in our lives these days, with so many of our favourite films and TV shows becoming spoiled online before we get a chance to see them. This is an even bigger problem for filmmakers, who don’t want to see a detrimental impact on the success of their movie as a result of the story being leaked.

Of course, you can’t stop spoilers completely but directors like Joe and Anthony Russo have tried everything they can, even putting out a statement to fans, asking for a complete ban on spoiling the film. Speaking to THR, Joe discussed why this was important:

“This is the environment we live in now. We can’t control the internet. It’s its own monster. Whether there’s malicious intent or compulsive

‘Striking Vipers’ to ‘San Junipero': Every ‘Black Mirror’ Episode Ranked, From Good to Mind-Blowing (Photos)
With the arrival of “Striking Vipers,” “Smithereens” and “Rachel, Jack and Ashley Too,” it’s time to re-rank every episode of “Black Mirror,” going back to the first episode, “National Anthem.” There are no bad “Black Mirror” episodes, so we ranked them from good to mind-blowing.

23. Season 2, Episode 3: “The Waldo Moment”

Many have made the now-trite observation that this episode, about a cartoon bear who insults his way into higher office, predicted the rise of Donald Trump. Okay. This episode does a good job of again showing that we bend too easily before the loud and obnoxious. But “Black Mirror” usually had more novel things to say.

22. Season 3, Episode 6: “Hated in the Nation”

It’s disappointing that Season 3 — in which “Black Mirror” produced some of the best television, well, ever — ended on such a so-so note. This story about a killer hashtag and Terminator bees has shades of “Sharknado.
