Robert Rodriguez’s ‘Alita: Battle Angel’ 4K Includes Dolby Vision and HDR10+

Robert Rodriguez's Alita: Battle Angel from producers James Cameron and Jon Landau is coming to Digital and Movies Anywhere on July 9th, followed by a 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray 3D, Blu-ray and DVD July 23rd release date.

Rosa Salazar, Christoph Waltz, Jennifer Connelly, Mahershala Ali, Ed Skrein, Jackie Earle Haley, and Keenan Johnson star in the visually stimulating film that has amassed nearly $405 million at the global box office.

What's noteworthy about this release, apart that it should look stunning in 4K, is that Fox -- or is that Disney now? -- has surprisingly opted to include not only Dolby Vision and HDR10, but the new HDR10+ format as well.

Keep in mind that HDR10+ and Dolby Vision are two competing Hdr formats. Fox's decision to include both rather than take sides will hopefully spur other studios to follow suit.

Alita: Battle Angel will also include Dolby Atmos audio

Maleficent: Mistress of Evil Unveils Its First Trailer

Kirsten Howard May 14, 2019

Angelina Jolie is back as Maleficent, the Disney villain who practically invented "tfw big mood."

Robert Stromberg's 2014 live-action film Maleficent explored the classic tale of a princess (Elle Fanning) who, on her sixteenth birthday, pricked her finger on the spindle of a spinning wheel and fell into a deep sleep from which she would never awaken, thanks to a vengeful and powerful fairy by the name of Maleficent (Angelina Jolie). It was a pretty big hit for Disney so, even though the story wrapped up nicely, a sequel is on the way later this year.

The follow-up film finds Maleficent plunging back into a vintage dark mood after clashing with Michelle Pfeiffer's Queen Ingrith over the ongoing issues surrounding the protection of the moors. Chiwetel Ejiofor, Robert Lindsay, Sam Riley, Imelda Staunton, and Juno Temple also star.

Mistress of Evil also has a fresh director

First Trailer For Disney's Maleficent: Mistress Of Evil

The story of Maleficent continues in a sequel coming from Disney called Maleficent: Mistress of Evil and today we have the first teaser trailer to share with you for it.

Personally, I wasn’t a big fan of the first film, but I know that there are a lot of Disney fans who did enjoy the movie. If you are one those people, then this movie is obviously for you. It looks like it will be just as good as the first one was. The one thing that I do like about this next film is the fact that Michelle Pfeiffer is in it.

The movie was directed by Joachim Rønning (Kon Tiki) from a script written by Linda Woolverton (Maleficent), and here’s the synopsis:

First Maleficent: Mistress Of Evil Trailer Teases A Dark Disney Sequel

While the dark sorceress received lukewarm reviews for her first solo outing in cinemas, 2014’s Maleficent did have a pretty impressive run at the box office, finishing off as the fourth highest-grossing release of that year. So, it’s not terribly surprising that production is very much underway for Maleficent: Mistress of Evil, the sequel to Disney’s live action revisionist take on the classic Sleeping Beauty villain.

Of course, the eponymous dark fairy will be once more played by Angelina Jolie, whose enjoyable performance in the first Maleficent impressed even the film’s detractors. Elle Fanning, meanwhile, will also be returning as Princess Aurora, and both of them feature in the trailer up above, which gives us our first proper look at the upcoming sequel.

It’s not the meatiest preview, but the footage we have here teases what appears to be a dark Disney outing, one which looks

'Hellboy' Star Daniel Dae Kim Says He's "Grateful" Producers Took Action and Recast His Character

'Hellboy' Star Daniel Dae Kim Says He's
Just days away from the Neil Marshall-directed and Andrew Cosby-written R-rated Hellboy reboot hitting theaters, star Daniel Dae Kim is saying he's "grateful" to the film's producers and director Neil Marshall for recasting his character, Ben Daimio, with an Asian-American actor.

The role of the rugged Japanese-American agent who teams up with Stranger Things star David Harbour's Hellboy to stop an ancient sorceress (Milla Jovovich) and her apocalyptic plans had originally gone to the white English actor Ed Skrein. Following social media backlash over the casting as a whitewashing of the original comic character, Skrein vacated the ...
