Bollywood's "Khatta Meetha" Faved In Goa Assembly, But Not On Screen

The tale of a struggling road constructor, Sachin Tichkule, who dreams big but cannot fulfill his dreams because of his inability to pay bribes to the country's corrupt men, might have not interested the common man, but director Priyadarshan's latest Hindi satire "Khatta Meetha" has rocked the Goa Legislative Assembly.

The politicians on Monday compared the contractor-oriented systemic corruption shown in the movie starring Akshay Kumar and Trisha Krishnan with the corruption in the state.

Bharatiya Janata Party (Bjp) legislator Damu Naik called on all legislators to watch the movie. Speaking during a discussion on public works-related demands, Naik, who himself is a film producer, said, "Everyone among you must see 'Khatta Meetha'. It is a movie about a contractor and his struggle with corruption. A lot of the things seen in the movie are just like what happens in Goa."
