Five features by young filmmakers and two Flemish minority co-productions are among projects to receive production support from the Flanders Audiovisual Fund (Vaf).
The projects include first-time directors and the new Dardenne brothers film starring Marion Cotillard.
Total production, script and development support in its latest round of funding comes to €2.8m ($3.8m).
Black is the second feature by young Flemish directors Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah (of Image which is currently in post-production). Written by Nele Meirhaeghe, the film is produced by Caviar.
D’Ardennen is Robin Pront’s directorial debut. Based on an original screenplay by actor Jeroen Perceval (Bullhead, Borgman) and Pront, the film is produced by Savage Film (Bullhead).
De derby is the first feature by Lenny Van Wesemael (Dancing With Travolta), based on a screenplay by Geert Verbanck (of the Oscar-nominated short Tanghi Argentini) and Van Wesemael. Production company
