India's Abundantia Entertainment to produce war drama ‘Runway’

Vikram Malhotra’s production outfit is developing and casting film about India’s “Pearl Harbour moment”.

Vikram Malhotra’s Abundantia Entertainment is set to produce a film, entitled Runway, based on a true story that took place during the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971.

The incident, often referred to as India’s Pearl Harbour, involved the destruction of an airstrip in the city of Bhuj, along with several Indian Air Force airstrips, by Pakistani bombers in December 1971.

Indian authorities only had 72 hours to repair the airstrips in order for fighter planes to take off and land. A group of around 300 local villagers,
