Captain Marvel Has Now Outgrossed Justice League, Venom And Doctor Strange

Captain Marvel continues its impressive run in domestic theaters, earning a second weekend haul of $69 million that makes Carol Danvers’ future at the forefront of the McU seem more secure than ever.

Right now, Captain Marvel’s domestic total sits at slightly over $266 million, surpassing the equivalent figures for Captain America: The Winter Soldier ($260 million), Doctor Strange ($233 million) and Ant-Man and the Wasp ($217 million). Looking beyond the McU, this number also puts Carol Danvers’ solo debut ahead of such comic book flicks as Justice League ($229 million), Venom ($214 million) and X-Men: Days of Future Past ($234 million).

Overseas, things seem to be going pretty swimmingly for Captain Marvel as well, with the film’s international gross now at $494 million. And with a global total at $760 million, that sequel is looking very much in the bag.
