Last chance is the best chance for Emilia Clarke and Kit Harington. After six seasons of submitting in supporting with four Emmy bids between them, the “Game of Thrones” stars were snubbed when they went lead last year, but 61 percent of our readers believe the duo will make the cut this time around for the eighth and final season.

Things are definitely breaking their way. The drama field is depleted, thanks to multiple shows sitting out the cycle. The Best Drama Actress race only has one eligible returning nominee, Sandra Oh (“Killing Eve”) from last year; the other five, champ Claire Foy (“The Crown”), Tatiana Maslany (“Orphan Black”), Elisabeth Moss (“The Handmaid’s Tale”), Evan Rachel Wood (“Westworld”) and Keri Russell (“The Americans”), are bypassing this Emmys or their show is done.

Clarke also got a windfall last week after Netflix confirmed that Season 3 of “The Crown” won’t return by the May 31 eligibility deadline.
