An unrecognizable Russell Crowe is coming for an Emmy as Roger Ailes in ‘The Loudest Voice’ trailer [Watch]
Just when Christian Bale thinks he has the market cornered on eerily accurate transformations into notorious, um, larger-than-life Republicans, Russell Crowe is here to be like, “Hold my beer.”

Showtime released the first trailer on Tuesday for “The Loudest Voice,” its new limited series about late Fox News founder Roger Ailes, played by Crowe, who’s nearly unrecognizable under all that makeup and prosthetics. Premiering Sunday, June 30 at 10/9c and based on Gabriel Sherman’s book “The Loudest Voice in the Room,” the series chronicles Ailes’ rise to power at the right-wing network to his downfall, when he was ousted in 2016 amid numerous sexual harassment allegations (he died in 2017).

In between Ailes growling about “fairness” and “balance” and scream-scheming — “We’re gonna give them a vision of the world the way they want it to be” — in the trailer are quick shots of him running his hands down Gretchen Carlson
