NBC developing The Da Vinci Code prequel series Langdon

Dan Brown’s Robert Langdon could be heading to the small screen, with Deadline reporting that NBC has given a production commitment to Langdon, which is being developed by Daniel Cerone and Ron Howard and Brian Grazer’s Imagine Television Studios.

Based upon The Lost Symbol, Langdon will serve as a prequel to The Da Vinci Code following a younger Robert Langdon, who in an early adventure, finds himself pulled into a series of deadly puzzles when his mentor is kidnapped, leading him to uncover a chilling conspiracy.

Langdon will be the fourth adaptation of Brown’s novels from Imagine Entertainment after the feature films The Da Vinci Code, Angels & Demons and Inferno, all of which were directed by Howard and starred Tom Hanks as the Harvard symbologist. Combined, the movies have grossed almost $1.5 billion worldwide.
