Pete Davidson Dissolves ‘SNL’ Players in Scarlett Johansson’s ‘Avengers’-Themed Monologue
Scarlett Johansson hosted “Saturday Night Live” for the sixth time on Dec. 14 and kicked things off with an “Avengers”-themed monologue.

Stepping out on stage at Studio 8H in New York City, Johansson was first joined by Aidy Bryant who did a quick change from her cold open snowman character into Elf on the Shelf. She and Johansson talked about how good Johansson had been this year, but very quickly Bryant began to dissolve.

Bryant was the first in a long line of “SNL” cast members to disappear in this way, due to what turned out to be Pete Davidson wearing Thanos’ glove.

An Avenger’s job is never done… even when she’s taking time out to host Saturday Night Live.

Scarlett Johansson, aka Marvel superhero Black Widow, kicked off her sixth time hosting the NBC sketch institution with a monologue that saw her reunite with Tweezil, her old Elf on the Shelf played by Aidy Bryant. But poor Tweezil suddenly started disintegrating, along with cast members Mikey Day and Beck Bennett. Uh-oh, looks like Avengers villain Thanos snapped his fingers and wiped out half the population again — and Johansson wasn’t prepared: “I left my Black Widow costume in the car!

‘Saturday Night Live’: Kate McKinnon’s Greta Thunberg Tells Trump to ‘Grow Up’
With the December holidays upon us, “Saturday Night Live” took a brief detour from its usual parodies of political press conferences and the impeachment hearings to instead begin its Dec. 14 episode with a sketch about average families discussing the state of the world over dinner — with a special message from Greta Thunberg (as played by Kate McKinnon).

The first family consisted of “SNL” cast members Melissa Villasenor, Cecily Strong, Bowen Yang and Kyle Mooney discussing Donald Trump. They were portraying a liberal family who wondered who would vote for Trump after all that has gone down and considering Trump’s

American Gods' Orlando Jones Blasts 'Insanely Hurtful' Statement About His Ouster, Praises Ep Neil Gaiman's 'Empathy and Care' During Tough Time
Orlando Jones hadn’t seen American Gods‘ statement about his firing before he talked with TVLine Saturday evening, so the first thing we did was read it to him.

The series’ response, in part, says that American Gods‘ storylines “have continually shifted and evolved to reflect the complex mythology of the source material,” and that Jones’ option was not picked up because his character, the Old God Mr. Nancy, “is not featured in the portion of the book we are focusing on in Season 3.” (Read the statement in full here.)

Orlando Jones Interview: The ‘American Gods’ Star on Getting ‘Screwed Over’ and Speaking Out (Exclusive)
Orlando Jones had held his tongue for months about being let go from “American Gods,” and how his departure was handled by producer Fremantle and the Starz network. But, in an interview with Variety, Jones said he finally decided to stand up for himself and set the record straight on why he won’t be seen in Season 3 — and how he feels he was disrespected by not getting the full truth for months — time that he could have spent working on other projects.

“I assumed at some point somebody would say that I wasn’t going to be in season three,

American Gods Explains Orlando Jones Exit, Vows to Remain 'One of the Most Diverse Series on TV' in Season 3
American Gods is defending its decision to part ways with cast member Orlando Jones.

Earlier on Saturday, Jones posted an expletive-laced video to Twitter, in which he alleged that he was fired from the series because new showrunner Charles “Chic” Eglee thought his character Mr. Nancy sent “the wrong message” to “black America.” In response, a spokesperson for the Fremantle-produced Starz drama tells TVLine that Jones’ option for Season 3 was not picked up because the upcoming run of episodes will focus on a portion of the book that does not include Mr. Nancy, among several other characters that appeared

Hallmark Channel Pulls Ads Featuring Same-Sex Wedding Due to Pressure, Prompts Calls to #BoycottHallmark

Hallmark Channel is drawing ire following its decision to pull commercials featuring a kiss between two brides — a decision it is now defending amid calls to boycott the network.

The ads in question were part of a larger campaign by wedding-planning website Zola, which featured commercials with both same-sex and heterosexual couples. Hallmark removed the commercials that included a lesbian wedding, but continued to air other ads by Zola that featured a bride and a groom. (TVLine has reached out to Hallmark Channel for comment.)

Hallmark Faces Holiday Controversy After Rejecting Ad With Same-Sex Couple

Hallmark Channel this week delivered a sentiment very different from the ones found in its parent company’s greeting cards when its executives questioned an ad showing two women getting married — and barred the commercial from running on its schedule.

Zola, a company that offers online wedding registries and wedding planning services, had been running commercials in recent days that feature a lesbian couple contemplating whether their wedding might have gone better if they had used Zola’s products. A spokeswoman for Zola said the company would remove all of its advertising from Hallmark “for the forseeable future” after being
