Annie is the only and motherless child of Mr. Bahr. He has petted and spoiled her. To solve the question, he determines to get married. He advertises for a better half. Mrs. Binks answers the ad in person. He proposes to her and she accepts. She is a widow and has a son. Anna and her father were looking forward to meeting a little boy, but evidently, he has out-grown his age and over-reached it. Anna is too much for her step-mother to handle and has a fixed purpose in her mind to have a whole lot of fun with her boob step-brother, but she has not reckoned with her host. The boy is more than a match for her. He exercises a strong hand over Anna and proves a great influence for good in her behalf. She grows to be a very congenial companion for her stepmother and a great comfort to her father.
