This Exclusive 'Hotel Transylvania 2' Trailer Introduces the Newest Little Monster

Three years after "Hotel Transylvania" introduced us to Count Dracula (Adam Sandler) and his monster-only hotel, "The Drac Pack" has returned for more fangtastic shenanigans in "Hotel Transylvania 2."

This time, now that Dracula's daughter Mavis (Selena Gomez) is married to human Jonathan (Andy Samberg), the hotel has relaxed its monsters-only policy, opening doors to human guests. One new resident is Mavis and Jonathan's half-human/half-vampire son Dennis, shown with his family in the exclusive photo below. Dennis doesn't seem to be showing signs of monster-hood, but Grandpa Drac is determined to bring out the fangs in the little ginger cutie. So while Mavis and Johnny are in California visiting Johnny's parents, Drac enlists his friends and his own grumpy old school dad Vlad (Mel Brooks!) to put Dennis through "monster-in-training" boot camp.

Things get "batty" and hilarity definitely ensues, as shown in this new trailer introduced by Fifth Harmony,

Universal Monsters Cinematic Universe Explained!

Jim Knipfel Oct 12, 2018

From Dracula and the Wolf Man to Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein. We worked out a timeline for the first shared cinematic universe.

(painting by Alex Ross)

When Universal Studios took a chance in the early ‘30s, found out just how popular horror films could be, and immediately began setting up franchise after franchise, let’s just say they didn’t think it through quite as carefully as DC or Marvel do today when it came to universe design. In the end, while the Invisible Man, the Mummy, and the Creature from the Black Lagoon came to inhabit their own personal, unmolested corners, it was almost inevitable Universal’s three Kings of Horror, the Wolf Man, Dracula, and Frankenstein’s monster, would collide headlong at some point.

But even with that inevitability in mind, filling logical gaps and answering all questions were secondary concerns at best. Still,

Universal's Classic Monsters, 'Draft Day' and 'Night Moves' This Week On DVD & Blu-ray

Draft Day I guess the discussion before releasing Draft Day was whether or not to take advantage of the start of the NFL season with the theatrical release or the DVD and Blu-ray release and the home video marketing team won because clearly that's the reason for bringing it out today, but does anyone care at this pointc The movie is no good, especially for anyone with a passing understanding of, or interest in, the NFL.

Universal Classic Monsters: Complete 30-Film Collection I'm not sure what I think about this one. While it would be awesome to own all of these titles, why Universal decided to go DVD-only is beyond me. If someone is a big enough fan of Universal's Classic Monsters franchise aren't they going to want them all and be willing to pay for them all on Blu-rayc Is it the cost involved in restoring them all and

Anne Rice Talks Book 3 of The Wolf Gift Chronicles, Louisiana Wolves, and More

Now that October is over, we should have time to tear into The Wolves of Midwinter, Book 2 of Anne Rice's The Wolf Gift Chronicles, especially since the author has confirmed Book 3 is definitely coming. Read on for a few early details.

On Halloween night Ms. Rice appeared on "The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson," and along with discussing her book tour with son Christopher, the influence of Dracula's Daughter on her writing, and her addiction to "Game of Thrones," she and Ferguson touched on the sense of menace in her writing and what's ahead for the Morphenkinder in Chronicles.

She promised "more menace" in Book 3 with "some Louisiana wolves in there this time." After Ferguson joked about setting it in a Harry Potter-type school for young werewolves, Rice revealed that Stuart, the young gay teenage wolf in The Wolves of Midwinter, is "just coming into his own" and

This week's new films

On The Road (15)

(Walter Salles, 2012, Fra/UK/Us/Bra) Sam Riley, Garrett Hedlund, Kristen Stewart, Kirsten Dunst, Tom Sturridge. 124 mins

It was the book that defined a generation, but On The Road has taken several more generations to get to the screen, which dissipates the energy somewhat. Added to which, Jack Kerouac's hip prose was never exactly movie-friendly. This is appropriately scenic, sweaty, druggy and ambisexual, but for all the forced bohemian zeal, the road feels rather long and flat. And what once passed for creative hedonism now looks more like male self-indulgence, which is never much fun to watch.

Ruby Sparks (15)

(Jonathan Dayton, Valerie Faris, 2012, Us) Paul Dano, Zoe Kazan, Annette Bening. 104 mins

A dream girl leaps off a blocked writer's pages and into his life in this playful romcom, which takes its Pygmalion-meets-Charlie Kaufman premise into deeper realms than you'd expect. The facts that Kazan wrote the script,
