Condensed serial, stick with original............
4 June 2006 | by revdrcacSee all my reviews

John Carroll starred in a 1937 serial of the same name, in which he portrayed the grandson of the original Zorro. That 212 minute serial featured the usual cliffhanger endings to each chapter --- as well as a few cowboy tunes for Zorro to serenade the audience with.

This version has been edited down to approximately 68 minutes and much is lost in the translation. John Carroll is fine in the lead role and went on to even bigger films such as Flying Tigers with John Wayne.

However, this edited serial lacks much of the suspense and pacing of the 1937 version. I would recommend this version to avid Zorro fans only .......
