Herman discovers he's the new lord of Munster Hall in England. The family sails to Britain, where they receive a tepid welcome from Lady Effigy and Freddie Munster, who throws tantrums because he wasn't named Lord Munster. An on-board romance had blossomed between Marilyn and Roger, but on land Marilyn discovers Roger's family holds a longstanding grudge against the Munsters. Herman upholds the family honor in an auto race; he and Grandpa also unlock "the secret of Munster Hall." Written by Dennis Lewis <dsl@sprynet.com>

Trivia

The reason Pat Priest was not used in Munster, Go Home! is because Universal wanted to build up the career of Debbie Watson. Even though Pat Priest was over 30 at the time of working on the series and on the series Marilyn was obviously college age, she was made to be only 17 in the movie and replaced by Debbie Watson whom Universal wanted to build the career of. This not only devastated Pat Priest, it angered most of the fans. However, Debbie's career never took off. See more »

Goofs

Freddie complains, "I'm Lord Munster, not HIM!" Lady Effigie explains that Freddie should have used the pronoun HE because "the objective pronoun always takes the nominative case". While she is right that Freddie should have used the pronoun HE, her explanation should have been, "When the predicate pronoun refers to the subject, the pronoun takes the nominative case". In fact, most pronouns in the predicate of a sentence are in the objective case, not the nominative case. See more »

A Long, Enjoyable, Full-Color Episode of the TV Show
2 September 2007 | by RiffRaffMcKinleySee all my reviews

Of course it would have been impossible for the Munsters to take a trip to England in a 25-minute TV episode. So it's fun to see it finally happen. I'm not the world's biggest Munster fan, but I've been watching the series ever since I was a little kid and I do love it (a wee bit). This, in particular, is a fun adventure, in which Herman inherits an English title and goes to the Sceptred Isle to claim it, even in spite of the wishes of his greedy cousins, who want the title for themselves. Naturally, this movie has the same kind of rim shot-based gags that highlight the show ("I thought he was made in Germany"), but it also has a great deal of fun and some gags are really quite funny, not to mention the drastic culture shock that takes place when the Munsters-- who aren't even normal Americans-- take Great Britain by storm. So if you like "The Munsters," you should go ahead and give "Munster, Go Home!" a try. You won't be disappointed.
